Hi everyone! I wanted to share an update about an exciting free online event that my mom and I are a part of next Thursday. We will be discussing how I have been incorporated into my mom’s speech therapy sessions for nearly 10 years. We will also be talking about the intersection of animal-assisted therapy and literacy through our children’s book (series) that stars me! Our first book is called “Little Lola Frenchie Loves Bathtime” and is oodles of fun for not only children, but dog lovers too. To be honest, it’s been beyond fascinating to see the impact that I’ve had in my mom’s speech therapy practice over the years. But can you blame my popularity? I mean how cute am I?! 😬
So please join us on Thursday September 5th at 5pm PST (8 EST) to discuss these topics further. My mom and I would love for all you to attend! It’s free,
but you need to sign up through . We will add the link below and in our story. If you have any questions in the interim feel free to message either myself or my mom . 💻
To sign up visit for this event, go to https://lp.constantcontactpages.com/ev/reg/w9y3vdv
Hope to see you there!
Love, Lola and Stefanie 💗
Do you incorporate therapy animals into your professional practices? I do! Lola (aka ) is my therapy dog and has been an integral part of my practice for nearly 10 years. More recently I’ve been exploring the intersection of animal-assisted therapy and literacy through a children’s book that features Lola called “Little Lola Frenchie Loves Bathtime”. Over the years it’s been fascinating to see Lola’s impact on children’s speech therapy and overall engagement in sessions. Would love to hear your experiences or thoughts on this!
Remember, what you have does not define what you can become. Congrats !
“Researchers found that among kids two- to five-years old, those whose parents often used technology to manage their negative emotions were more likely to show poor anger and frustration management a year later. These kids were also less capable of deciding on a deliberate response over an automatic reaction.”

An oldie, but a goodie! I just love this variation of the original “Guess Who” game, but this time it’s with animals. It comes with a choice of land animals on one board and another board with water animals. A great way to expand vocabulary, teach descriptor words and a fun way to work on asking and answering “yes” or “no” questions about animal features. Each player tries to narrow down the choices to correctly guess the other player’s mystery animal. The first to do so wins!
I am often asked “Should I read to my baby?”, and the answer is YES! Studies have shown that reading aloud to your child from birth helps build key language, literacy and social skills — which typically lead to greater achievements in school and beyond (; American Academy of Pediatrics). So don’t delay. Read a book with your baby (and children) today!
I am excited to share this article that both and I were featured in on discussing my speech therapy practice and of course Lola! It discusses the ins and outs of setting up a private practice, what goes into becoming a speech-language pathologist, how Lola has been used in the clinic, our first children’s book “Little Lola Frenchie Loves Bathtime” and news about our upcoming second children’s book called “Little Lola Frenchie Bakes a Cake” and an activity workbook called “Look Who’s Listening With Little Lola Frenchie” to assist with following directions.
