These seeming dichotomies are what initially sparked my attraction to orthopedics, and what drew me unwaveringly to the field of hand surgery. There is a tremendous amount of depth in the field of hand, providing a surgeon with the ability to be involved in a wide range of surgeries. With a patient population ranging from infant to elderly it is possible to be the hand surgeon for generations of a family throughout the course of one’s career.

Having traveled to over thirty countries around the world, I have gained a rich appreciation for the diversity and beauty of different cultures, religions, and nations, allowing me to develop a patient-centered approach to care.

I believe that my dedication to achieving surgical precision, combined with a deep sense of empathy for my patients as individuals, has guided me and will continue to guide me in the right direction during career in hand surgery.

Let’s talk BOXING!🥊
A boxer’s fracture is a fracture of the fifth metacarpal bone of the hand, at the metacarpal neck. This is the bone associated with the small finger. When fractured, usually after punching an object like a boxer, it is often displaced and requires surgery.
For obvious reasons, never ever punch a wall or hard object, because unlike in the movies or television there is a very high likelihood you will sustain a fracture in the hand.
Furthermore, if you are training in martial arts, or UFC, or a boxer, make sure you follow the appropriate precautions to prevent an incorrect punch and ultimate fracture of the 5th finger.

The rotator cuff is a group of muscles and tendons that surround the shoulder joint, keeping the head of your upper arm bone firmly within the shallow socket of the shoulder. An injury can cause a dull ache in the shoulder, which often worsens with use of the arm away from the body.
The pain associated with a rotator cuff injury may:
❗️Be described as a dull ache deep in the shoulder
❗️Disturb sleep
❗️Make it difficult to comb your hair or reach behind your back
❗️Be accompanied by arm weakness

The best exercises for building and maintaining strong bones are weight-bearing and muscle-strengthening activities. Weight-bearing exercises are any activity performed standing up, such as walking, running, and dancing. When your feet and legs support your weight, your bones have to work harder, making them stronger.
