Our Story
AXIS CONNECT brings together world-class dance artists from around the world for classes, creative process, rehearsals, networking and performance opportunities in both Los Angeles and New York City. We are a community of artists carving our own paths.
Acceptance into the program is by audition only.
21st century dancers require the skills to approach their careers strategically to conquer fears of financial instability, threat of injury, lack of connections, and anxiety that comes with being an artist at this time. Axis Connect stands alone in our philosophy of educating young professionals to push the boundaries of career possibilities, while providing valuable strategies for lifetime success and fulfillment. We achieve this by answering questions, nurturing individual strengths, and exposing dancers to essential experiences not typically addressed in dance education. The Barton sisters pride themselves in forming lifetime connections for dancers in the industry and lending the necessary confidence to dream big and carve their own paths.
Upon acceptance into the program, dancers experience two weeks of workshops in both Los Angeles and New York City with world-renowned choreographers and directors, learning repertoire, developing new work, and in many cases gaining employment. On the final day of the intensive, a showing of repertoire is presented for an invited audience, including presenters, agents, managers, choreographers, and artistic directors.
