Our Story

Koodakestane Lily is a bilingual preschool and kindergarten program run by a former Iranian pediatrician, Dr. Lily Ashoor, and serves students in the San Fernando Valley and the Los Angeles area.

Dr. Ashoor acquired her preschool principal license here in California. Instruction occurs in both Farsi (Persian) and English, with an academic focus on English. The program is designed and tweaked by Dr. Ashoor and a former school psychologist, Sharzad Firooz, to ensure that the needs of every individual child are met.

Children are spoken to in both English and Farsi, but the focus of the academic instruction is English. Through a variety of activities, students are taught academics (reading, writing, math, science, history, and geography) as well as social skills and self-help skills. Typical activities include: Singing, dancing, circle time, free play, water play, yoga, bike riding and outdoor play, dramatic play, arts and crafts, nature exploration, and more.
