DAJ Design is excited to welcome Bill McGuire to the team. Bill is a licensed architect and a Cloud Scholar from the College of Architecture at Illinois Institute of Technology where he received his masters in architecture. Bill is originally from Chicago-land area and has worked in residential, restaurant, and hospitality. New to Colorado, he is excited to test his long-distance running chops on the trails around Boulder County, as well as enjoy all the camping, hiking, and fishing opportunities.

DAJ Design is grateful to receive recognition from Houzz for our project, Bridge, in their 2024 Top-Rated Home Designs. This is the third consecutive year we have been awarded this title from Houzz.

This year, Bridge was recognized internationally for having one of the best outdoor decks. Bridge utilizes upper level exterior space by implementing a walk out deck and shade sail systems, complete with a gas fire pit.

Fargo

Five years ago, Fargo was in the middle of construction in Old Town Louisville. We were pretty excited to watch this project get built, especially the cantilevered back. Thank you all of your support, congratulatory phone calls, and thoughtful messages.

DAJ Design is thrilled to share that our project, Fargo, was featured on the home page of Architectural Record, as well as their Featured Houses column. Additionally, DAJ Design is grateful for the shout out from AIA Colorado in their newsletter. It is a joy to see Fargo, the first full electric, net-zero house in Louisville, Colorado, receive recognition from Architectural Record and AIA Colorado. Thank you all for your support! Staircases are one of our favorite sculptural forms in a home. Here’s a sneak peak of the staircase in one of our projects near completion, Cherry.

We recently checked out some of DAJ Design's homes under construction in the Marshall Burn Zone. They are getting close to done, and soon will be ready for their owners to move in! It is astonishing how many houses have been built in 2 years.

DAJ Design is excited to share that one of the townhouses we designed for Saddle Creek Boulder was the first to pre-sell, commencing construction! One of our employees captured this view of the project site while on a hike in Boulder Canyon.

One of our projects in Breckenridge, Tordal, looks especially cozy on a winter day. DAJ Design wishes everyone a happy final week of 2023, and a wonderful New Year!

On our recent project ‘Bridge’ we designed a three level staircase which connected to each level’s walkway. Detached from the walls, the bridges connect with a minimal number of steel points. The walkway is composed of thick wood planks with ¼” spacing, allowing light and ventilation to flow between levels. On some recent projects, we've started making conceptualized diagrams in order to better understand the massing, function, and layout of homes. These are helpful during the schematic design process, before any specific details are dialed in. Plus they are a lot of fun to look at!

DAJ Design is thrilled to be a sponsor of the Louisville Turkey Trot, and we can't wait to see everyone at the event tomorrow as we celebrate its 10th year! The race will kick off from the corner of Front Street and Pine, near Lucky Pie and Sweet Cow.

A special thanks to Community Food Share, AdventHealth Avista, and Louisville Turkey Trot for hosting this wonderful and impactful annual event in our community. Your entry ticket and any additional food donations will support the Community Food Share, which is dedicated to eliminating hunger in Boulder and Broomfield Counties. Last year's race successfully raised over $55,000 for Community Food Share.

At DAJ Design, we are excited to showcase our renovation and addition project for the headquarters of , a local home-based bakery business! Loco Croffle offers made to order croffles, and trust us, they are amazing!

A few years back we completed a historic preservation, renovation, and addition project to a historic house in Old Town Louisville which Loco Croffle operates out of! The kitchen we designed is now used for baking these delicious pastries.

We had the unique opportunity to design a new brewery, Redgarden Restaurant and Brewery, in the Louisville Industrial Park. Removing the barriers between interior and exterior space was important for enjoying Colorado weather.

Check out some more images of our project, Cantilevers, which will be constructed in the Louisville Tech Center. It will bring a combination of Class A office space and flex industrial to Louisville, and we look forward to sharing more updates with you all.

Last week we had the opportunity to walk through Cherry House, one of our projects near completion. Located on five acres of agricultural land in Old Town Louisville, the Cherry House includes an attached garage, pool, and spiral staircase. As the landscaping grows, we hope to photograph the house next year.
