The community of Perryton is still recovering and rebuilding after an EF3 tornado hit their town earlier this summer. It takes a lot of community support for a small town of 8,900 to recover from a disaster like this one, so we are grateful to the High Plains Food Bank in Amarillo for helping distribute our food to those in need in Perryton.

Supporting those in need by providing food is what we do day in and day out. It's a special privilege to help those in our own community, especially after a natural disaster like the tornado that hit Matador at the end of June. Thank you to the South Plains Food Bank for helping us distribute this food to the people of Matador!

It was such a privilege to host the Mandela Washington Fellows for a visit to Breedlove. These 24 outstanding young leaders are from all over Sub-Saharan Africa and are professionals in law, government, economics, agriculture, medicine, and other public management fields. These young professionals were in the United States for six weeks as part of the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders and were hosted by Texas Tech University. What an honor it was to hear firsthand how the work that we do every day is positively impacting the countries they live in!

“I have the audacity to believe that peoples everywhere can have three meals a day for their bodies, education and culture of their minds, and dignity, equality, and freedom for their spirits. I believe that what self-centered men have torn down, men other-centered can build up. I still believe that one day mankind will bow before the altars of God and be crowned triumphant over war and bloodshed, and nonviolent redemptive goodwill will proclaim the rule of the land.” - Martin Luther King, Jr.
