This week we had the privilege of hosting a group of first-year medical students from the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine as part of their Patients, Physicians, and Populations course. We were honored to have them tour Breedlove and learn more about our mission to feed people in need.

Breedlove is proud to participate in the State Employee Charitable Campaign (SECC), the statewide annual giving campaign for employees of the state of Texas. We recently had the opportunity to attend kickoff fairs for Texas Tech University, Texas Tech University System, & Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. The community of Perryton is still recovering and rebuilding after an EF3 tornado hit their town earlier this summer. It takes a lot of community support for a small town of 8,900 to recover from a disaster like this one, so we are grateful to the High Plains Food Bank in Amarillo for helping distribute our food to those in need in Perryton.

Supporting those in need by providing food is what we do day in and day out. It's a special privilege to help those in our own community, especially after a natural disaster like the tornado that hit Matador at the end of June. Thank you to the South Plains Food Bank for helping us distribute this food to the people of Matador!

It was such a privilege to host the Mandela Washington Fellows for a visit to Breedlove. These 24 outstanding young leaders are from all over Sub-Saharan Africa and are professionals in law, government, economics, agriculture, medicine, and other public management fields. These young professionals were in the United States for six weeks as part of the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders and were hosted by Texas Tech University. What an honor it was to hear firsthand how the work that we do every day is positively impacting the countries they live in!

As we support our friends and neighbors on the South Plains and across the United States, we continue to support the people and the spirit of Ukraine. This week, we partnered with Lubbock-based Sunset International Bible Institute and shipped nearly 1 million more meal servings to Ukraine. We will never tire of feeding people in need, both near and far!

As Father’s Day approaches and we are thinking about all of the father figures and leaders in our lives, our team here at Breedlove is especially grateful for our leader and CEO, Bill Miller. This recent episode of NPR’s Texas Tech Public Media’s “Around Town” highlights Bill and the amazing contributions he has made to Breedlove and the greater Lubbock area through the years.

We are so grateful for our partner, CitiHope, and the amazing work that they do. So far this year, through the USAID - US Agency for International Development International Food Relief Partnership, they’ve been able to feed our food to more than 10,000 people in Somaliland.

In honor of National Police Week and particularly our neighbors on MLK Blvd here in Lubbock, Breedlove donated backpacks and cases of our instant microwaveable products to the officers of the Lubbock Police Department's East Patrol Division Station for their breakroom.

We appreciate the men and women in blue and law enforcement everywhere who protect us every day and support our way of life.

We loved having the King's Highway tour group here at Breedlove this week as part of their "A Look Around Lubbock" day trip! We always enjoy sharing our story with people in our community!

We want to wish a big congratulations to our partners at Jeremiah's Hope and Global Samaritan Resources on the sendoff of their 20th container of relief aid to Ukraine since February 2022. Last week, we were honored to join them in Abilene as they closed the doors on this milestone container. It’s been a privilege and honor to work with these two phenomenal organizations in sending millions of servings of our food to Ukraine as a part of these efforts over the last year.

We're proud to partner with highly effective food banks like the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma. Yesterday we shipped them more than 158,000 food servings to support their current and ongoing food needs.
