We would like to wish Texas Tech Foundation director Ben Strickling a happy birthday!
Strickling, an alumnus of Texas Tech University, is the chairman of the board at Blue Arrow Operating. He is a key member of the west Texas oil and gas industry and previously served as president and CEO of Delaware Basin Resources for over 39 years.
In addition to his role on the Texas Tech Foundation, Strickling is a member of Chancellor's Council. In 2015, he was inducted into the Texas Tech University Petroleum Engineering Academy.
We would like to wish Texas Tech Foundation director Cherry Wright a happy birthday!
Wright, an alumna of Texas Tech University, is a retired speech pathologist. She served in several roles through her career in public education and retired after serving as assistant superintendent of curriculum and instruction for 11 years.
In addition to her role on the Texas Tech Foundation, Wright is a member of Chancellor's Council.

In addition to his role on the Texas Tech Foundation, Wisniewski has served on the Angelo State University Alumni Association board and the Ram Club. In 2019, he was honored with the Outstanding Alumni of the Year award.

Morris, an alumnus of Texas Tech University '80 and Texas Tech Health Sciences Center '84, serves as a cardiologist at Memorial Cardiology Associates.
In addition to his role on the Texas Tech Foundation, Morris previously served on the faculty of TTU Health Sciences Center's School of Medicine. Morris is a member of Spur Society, Matador Society, Chancellor's Council, Red Raider Club and the People of Pulse Magazine.

Cathey, an alumnus of Texas Tech University Health Science Center '02 and Texas Tech University '14, serves as the regional chief executive of Covenant Health.

The Texas Tech Foundation honors the life of R. Don Cash, emeritus director of the Texas Tech Foundation, whose indelible legacy at the Texas Tech University System has created a remarkable impact in the lives of many.

Duncan, an alumnus of Texas Tech University ‘76, ‘81, is of counsel at Crenshaw, Dupree & Milam, L.L.P., one of the largest law firms in West Texas.
In addition to his role as director of TTFI, Duncan served as the fourth chancellor of the Texas Tech University System, was elected to District 84 in the Texas House of Representatives in ‘92 and won a special election to the Texas Senate in ’96 where he served until becoming chancellor.

Last week, the Institutional Advancement team held our annual retreat at Spirit Ranch.
Throughout the day, our staff participated in various team-building activities, including tug-of-war and TTU System Jeopardy. We also had the pleasure of hearing from Jason Weber, associate vice chancellor for Leader & Culture Development, and Bradley Adkins, a 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympian.

Nevarez, an alumnus of the Texas Tech Edward E. Whitacre Jr. College of Engineering ’95, is the executive vice president of Scout Energy Partners. In recognition of his dedication to higher education, he was appointed to the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board in May 2024.
In addition to his role as secretary for TTFI, Nevarez serves on the Petroleum Industry Advisory Executive Board at TTU and is a member of the Texas Tech College of Engineering Dean’s Council, Matador Society and the Engineering Key Society.

On May 11th, J. Pat Hickman, retired president and CEO of Happy State Bank and Trust Company, graduated from Texas Tech University with a bachelor's degree in applied personal finance from the College of Human Sciences.
From the moment Hickman stepped onto campus in 1970, he began a 55-year journey with the Texas Tech University System.

Longtime supporters of Texas Tech, Gordon and his wife, Joyce, have made several generous contributions to the university. In 2022, Gordon and Joyce made a $44 million donation to the College of Agricultural Sciences & Natural Resources, the largest philanthropic donation in Texas Tech history. This donation also stands as one of the largest investments in people and programs in any agricultural college in the U.S. To honor this historic donation, Texas Tech renamed the college to the Gordon W. Davis College of Agricultural Sciences & Natural Resources.
