Today, we celebrate Juneteenth, marking the end of slavery in the U.S. On June 19, 1865, freedom finally reached Galveston, Texas, two years after the Emancipation Proclamation.

In observance of this important day, our office will be closed on Wednesday, June 19.

Our hearts go out to all those impacted by the devastating wildfires in Southern New Mexico, and we are committed to supporting them during this challenging time. The Greatest Needs Impact Fund held within the Community Foundation of Southern New Mexico is currently directing efforts to Lincoln and Otero. The Greatest Needs Impact Fund will provide financial resources to support the immediate and long-term recovery needs for the people, animals, and places affected by the devastating wildfires in Southern New Mexico.

This fund is in partnership with the Community Foundation of Lincoln County and their ongoing Shelter Fund, the New Mexico Wildfire Relief Fund, and the Emergency Action Fund held within the Albuquerque Community Foundation. Our hearts are with our communities and neighbors in Lincoln and Otero. ❤

The Community Foundation of West Texas (CFWT) and the Hockley County Endowment (HCE) established the Storm Recovery Relief Fund to give concerned donors a way to support immediate relief and continuing recovery efforts for those affected by the devastating storms on May 28th and 29th. CFWT and HCE, in close collaboration with local community partners and nonprofits that serve the Hockley County area, will work to determine the most pressing needs. To give to the Storm Recovery Relief Fund, go to cfwtx.org or hockleycountyendowment.org or mail a check payable to CFWT, 6102 82nd Street, 8b; Lubbock, TX 79424, and reference Storm Recovery Relief Fund.

This fund was established by Frances Winn to benefit Girl Scouts members who have achieved Gold Award level.

ELIGIBILITY:
These are competitive awards with the primary areas of qualifications being: a High School senior who will graduate from an accredited Texas High School who has achieved the level of Gold Award in Girl Scouts.

Preference will be given to Lubbock County Girl Scouts.
