Daylight savings starts Sunday: Time to change your clocks, check your smoke alarm batteries.

On Sunday, March 14, it’s time to turn your clock forward for daylight savings time. Many people will use this opportunity to change their home’s smoke alarm batteries as well, says the National Fire Protection Association.

Because working smoke alarms are a critical element of home fire safety, the association supports any and all efforts to reinforce the importance of working batteries. However, it notes that today’s smoke alarms are not all designed the same and offers the following guidance:

Smoke alarms with non-replaceable 10-year batteries are designed to remain effective for up to 10 years. If the alarm chirps, warning that the battery is low, replace the entire smoke alarm right away.
Smoke alarms with any other type of battery need a new battery at least once a year. If that alarm chirps, warning the battery is low, replace the battery right away.
When replacing a battery, follow manufacturer’s list of batteries on the back of the alarm or manufacturer’s instructions. Manufacturer’s instructions are specific to the batteries (brand and model) that must be used. The smoke alarm may not work properly if a different kind of battery is used.

I just have a burning urge to share a scripture epiphany.

Im not typically a materialistic person or become attatched to many things. I am however reminded from time to time that I am human and vulnerable to the human condition. My main attachment concerning survival or the lack of Food, shelter, water.

Questions in my mind are starting the longer this COVID-19 thing drags out. Will this ever end? How will I or we "fill in the blank" Pay rent, feed my family, what will I do if? etc...

Im certainly not alone in feeling this way. Nor is it wrong, it just is and its ok to sit with that and process and pray to Heavenly Father for guidance and strength to endure whatever calamities are dealt to us. I know of no one who has not cryed out "Houston, we have a problem!" If you happen to be unscathed by this unprecedented historic global event, I would like to know your secret. Lol!

Matthew 6:26 came to mind last week when I met with the Missionaries for a discussion about prayer so I shared it with them.

Matthew 6
26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?

Jesus asks us to think of the birds. Everything they need is provided by God. They do not need to sow crops or labor in the field to eat. God gives them everything required to live.

Prayer is a blessing in so many ways if we practice it the way its intended to be used.

The Prayer of Jabez 1 Chronicles 4:10 is a microscopic entry in the Bible yet so very profound.

10 And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested."

The prayer has 4 parts.
1 Jabez asks God to bless him,
2 he asks God to expand his territory or increase his responsibility,
3 he prays that God will be with him and stay close and last
4 he asks to be kept from harm and be free of pain.

I dont know about you but Im convinced I should consider Surrender, vulnerability and a heartfelt conversation via prayer with Heavenly Father. He is available 24/7 365 and there is no fee!

What did I get out of this? A sense of balance and peace. Maybe even another piece of perfect ashlar to build and strengthen my testimony.

Blessings to All! :)
