Bath time. Grim buries his head into the corner to avoid any water on his face. He does stay in the tub for me until It’s over.

Congrats Joshua and K9 Karak! A family member on my wife’s side doing great things in North Carolina.

On Thursday, November 21, 2019 at approximately 7:32 AM, Polk County Communications received a call of a suspicious vehicle at Silver Creek Rd and Bishop Lane. Deputies from the Polk County Sheriff’s Office and the State Highway Patrol responded to the area. Deputies located a disabled Chevrolet Trail Blazer displaying a dealer tag sitting off the road. Deputies got out with William Andrew Lee Morgan, 24, of Mount Pleasant, NC.
During the investigation, Morgan was acting suspicious and even trying to give personal property away to passerby’s and after conformation of outstanding warrants, a K-9 was deployed on the vehicle. K-9 Karak indicated on the vehicle. Deputies searched the vehicle and located approximately 876 grams of suspected Methamphetamine in a backpack. This is a street value of approximately $43,800.00. Morgan was arrested and charged with the following:
• Felony- Maintain veh/dwell/place CS
• Felony- PWISD Methamphetamine
• Felony- Trafficking Methamphetamine X2
• Felony Poss. of firearm by felon
• Carry Concealed weapon
• Poss. drug para.
Morgan is being held in the Polk County Detention Center under an $188,000.00 secured bond. Polk County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the NC Highway patrol for their assistance.

Grim and I were happy to spend time with some Hazel Park students. These children were given a tour of the police department and able to have a Q and A session.

Unfortunately I have to blur out the children’s faces due to policy.

These pictures were done by AceK9 while Grim and I were at the training seminar in Alpena. I get to select one “poster” size picture. I’m leaning towards the American flag picture.

Thanks everyone for voting for our carved pumpkin. We had fun and enjoyed the pies.

Victory is sweet, or at least that’s what the winners of our first City Department Carving Contest will tell you! We carved them and you chose the winner! Congratulations to our First Place winner the Madison Heights Police Department with over 290 votes. Congratulations also go to the Active Center and the Finance Department coming in Second and Third place respectively. An honorable mention goes to our Department of Public Services with pumpkins carved in Director Corey Almas’ likeness that just missed the deadline for voting.

This is as dressed up for Halloween as Grim will allow! Have a happy and safe Halloween!

Grim is generally deployed on open door alarms when we know they are not occupied by employees and if we believe suspects are armed.

This podcast (Mike Drop 025 Benito Olson) was brought to my attention by a friend. It gives detailed stories of what this military K9 handler went through with his K9. He was attached to SEAL team 6 for some time. If you have the time it is a very interesting listen.

We thank them and all military members for their service!

Side note - Some swearing during the podcast.

Amazing career. RIP
