AWSA is pleased to announce the 2024 Elementary Principal of the Year: Kari Krueger, Highlands Elementary School/Odyssey Charter School in Appleton!

This week, AWSA members and staff participated in NAESP-NASSP Federal Advocacy Days in Washington, D.C. The Wisconsin delegation met with the offices of Rep. Pocan, Rep. Grothman, Rep. Fitzgerald, Sen. Baldwin, and Sen. Johnson.

In 2024, Wisconsin’s largest education associations will posthumously jointly honor U.S. Senator Herb Kohl.

These associations represent thousands of principals, superintendents, school board members, teachers, and other school staff statewide. A first for the organizations, this joint recognition acknowledges Senator Kohl’s lifetime of commitment to Wisconsin education.

The organizations include the Association of Wisconsin School Administrators (AWSA), Wisconsin Association of School Boards (WASB), Wisconsin Association of School District Administrators (WASDA), and the Wisconsin Education Association Council (WEAC).

The Association of Wisconsin School Administrators has named Jeffrey Taege as its 2023 Wisconsin Associate Principal of the Year. Taege has served as assistant principal at Butler Middle School in Waukesha for the past seven years. Congratulations, Jeffrey!
