I’m proud to share that I’ve received a perfect 100% score from the Wisconsin Conservation Voters for my votes in support of clean water, clean air, and democracy this session! The Driftless Region has been a leader in conservation for many years, and I will continue to work to protect and enhance our beautiful land, air, and water.
Thank you to the La Crosse Area Chamber of Commerce for hosting a legislative forum this week at The Main in downtown La Crosse!
We must expand access to child care, improve transportation infrastructure, and lower prescription drug prices to support Wisconsin’s working families and grow our economy.
Fun time celebrating Clearwater Farm’s 25th birthday over the weekend with Onalaska City Council President Diane Wulf and Clearwater Farm Board President Shari Collas! The City of Onalaska is a great place to live and learn!
In 1999, volunteers from the Onalaska community came together to preserve a part of local heritage and create an educational gathering place. The three acre farm is located in Greens Coulee in the heart of the City of Onalaska.
I firmly believe there is much more that unites us than divides us. Violence of any kind has no place in our political discourse. I’m thankful for the swift law enforcement response in Pennsylvania, and am praying and thinking of everyone impacted.
Thank you to Amy and Sydney for the great visit to the Coulee Region Adult Day Center, and for your service to seniors and individuals with disabilities in our community. The compassionate and personalized care provided at the center enriches both the physical and mental wellness of our community and is invaluable to many in the Coulee Region.
I had a great visit to Westby with Governor Evers, where public/private partnership is bringing the community together to expand child care opportunities and fit the unique needs of the community. Thank you to Miles of Smiles Childcare Center, and the Westby Area School District for your commitment to making child care more accessible in our region!
Happy Independence Day!

Every Wisconsinite deserves uninterrupted access to the freedom to make their own reproductive health care decisions.
Two years ago today, the U.S. Supreme Court took away this constitutional right. Today, we continue to fight to protect access to reproductive health care in Wisconsin for all.
On Saturday, I had the honor of joining members of the Ho-Chunk Nation to recognize and preserve the legacy of the 14 Ho-Chunk soldiers who served as Code Talkers during World War II.
I was proud to join Jon Greendeer, President of the Ho-Chunk Nation, former President JoAnn Jones, Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs Secretary James Bond, and my legislative colleagues to celebrate the “Highway of Heroes,” the much-deserved renaming of Interstate 90 from La Crosse to Tomah after the Ho-Chunk Code Talkers.
Steak, pancakes, scrambled eggs and all things dairy at this morning’s Vernon County Dairy Breakfast at the Goede Family Farm in Newton Valley!
Did you know that the Mississippi River is a migratory superhighway? A majority of all migratory birds in North America follow the Mississippi River. Building public-private partnerships for watershed conservation is important. Proud to stand with leaders from Audubon at the 100th anniversary of the Upper Mississippi River Wildlife Refuge!
At a time when there’s so much that divides us, bridges bring us together and build communities. I was proud to join local leaders today in West Salem to celebrate the grand opening of a bicycle/pedestrian bridge that will improve safety and connectivity in the Coulee Region!

Thank you to everyone who came out to Sparta City Hall last night to share your thoughts and concerns with me and Rep. Jill Billings at our listening session!
La Crosse and the Driftless Region have a proud history. I had a great time learning about the La Crosse area’s efforts during the Civil War at the La Crosse County Historical Society this morning.
La Crosse resident C.C. Washburn served as a major general during the war, later becoming a Wisconsin governor and founder of General Mills, maker of Cheerios and other food products.
Rep. Jill Billings and I will be holding a listening session next week on Tuesday, June 18th at the Sparta City Hall. More information can be found below ⬇️

Today we continue our celebration with another 2024 WCMA Champion: Senator Brad Pfaff! A longtime advocate for Wisconsin’s dairy industry, Sen. Pfaff has worked to advance many of WCMA members’ key state priorities, from broadband investments to transportation to critical funds for dairy business growth. He has supported measures to create the Wisconsin Initiative for Agricultural Exports, boost dairy processor grant funding, support the Dairy Innovation Hub, and expand rural broadband access. Thank you, Senator!
It’s always a great afternoon to enjoy some cheese curds!
I had a fun afternoon welcoming Wisconsin State Senator Dianne Hesselbein to western Wisconsin and touring La Crosse Beverage, LLC!
Senator Brad Pfaff and I had a great time touring La Crosse Beverage with my good friend Mike Frank. Its interesting to learn how the distribution industry works, and the variety of beer & spirits surprised me. There are so many different types of products.
Happy June Dairy Month! As a farm boy, this month has a special meaning to me. Growing up on my family’s dairy farm in northern La Crosse County, I saw the huge impact dairy has on our state. It is the economic and cultural lifeblood of Wisconsin.
June Dairy Month has special for this former farm boy serving in the state Capitol Wisconsin farmers carry a significant weight of our state’s economy on their shoulders, yet they struggle to make ends meet.
Our communities are stronger when we have quality, affordable and accessible housing. I was thrilled to join Governor Evers and local leaders at the groundbreaking of the Main Street Apartments in Viroqua last week, and am excited to see the positive impact this development will have on the region!
