Our internal dialogue can often turn into our harshest critic, leading to unkind and hurtful self-talk. It's important to practice speaking to yourself with compassion and understanding.
Next time you catch yourself being overly self-critical, try shifting your perspective. Consider how you would respond if a friend or loved one shared the same thoughts about themselves. This change in focus can help us realize when we are being too hard on ourselves. Remember, speaking kindly to yourself truly makes a difference!
Today is the day that often marks the "end of Summer" - Labor Day.
It's the day when many of us get to take the day off, and it's the day that many of us *wish* we could take the day off. The idea of "doing nothing" is pretty sweet, or in our case, salty. 😉
If you need a little nothingness in your life, we'd be honored to help you make that wish a reality, but you'll have to wait
Does this look like your home or office? Plants can be a great addition to any space and can help to improve your mood, creativity, and problem solving.
Taking care of plants is also a wonderful reminder that we, too, need water, nourishment, and sunlight to thrive. If it's time for a little nourishment for yourself, schedule your next visit with us!
Step away from the busy-ness of the world and reconnect with yourself, your breath, your own heartbeat, and your sense of calm.
When someone tells you they like your outfit or hairstyle, what do you usually say? Is your natural instinct to push away the compliment or deny it?
For some reason, a lot of us are uncomfortable when receiving compliments. Next time it happens, resist the urge to use one of your habitual responses, and instead just say, "Thank you."
The more you practice this, the more confident you'll feel and your self esteem will soar.
Float. Meditate. Let go. Find a little peace.
Don't underestimate the power of positive thinking! What do your thoughts sound like today?
If you don't feel like being positive right now, start off small. Be grateful for the sunshine. Be grateful for the shower you took this morning. Be excited for something that will happen in the future. Be appreciative of your friends and family.
Since we're thinking thoughts all day, they might as well err on the side of positivity! And if your thoughts feel like too much and you just want them to take a break, that's what we're here for. When you're feeling relaxed, that's a great place to start building your thoughts with positivity, and see how the world changes around you.
Sometimes all we need is a chance to give ourselves a chance. Many people find that time spent floating offers powerful reflections, and a chance to accept and appreciate themselves, exactly as they are.
Research shows that having higher self-esteem not only improves our mood but also enhances our ability to bounce back from life's challenges. One way to boost self esteem is through the practice of positive affirmations that resonate with you. Instead of setting unrealistic goals like "I will be the most successful person ever," choose affirmations like "I will persist until I achieve my goals!"
When things feel a little chaotic, or the waves just keep crashing on you, take a pause.
Come in and float with us.
Sometimes we do the things that are supposed to help us feel well - we get enough sleep, we rest when our bodies are asking for it, and we don't overload ourselves with too much.
But sometimes, that's not enough. Sometimes, our nervous systems are so hyped up, we're running on fumes, even with the right amount of rest.
Sometimes, we need to do things that help us "reset". Float therapy can do just that.
Some people float because it just makes them happy.
And we love that.
Discover what brings you joy and where your skills shine! Engage in activities that make you feel accomplished and confident. Love cooking? Host a dinner party! Enjoy swimming? Dive into the pool at your local gym or YMCA (better yet, a natural body of water if you're close to one!).
Embrace the things that light you up!
It's okay to take a break when you need it. It's okay to take a break even when you don't need it.
When we don't take the time or have the opportunity to care for our own wellbeing, it can show up in our bodies, emotions, and actions.
When you start to notice these in yourself, it's time to take charge of your wellness again. Ask for help. Schedule an appointment with us. You don't even have to tell us what's going on.
We see individuals come in each and every day, carrying so much on their shoulders. It's the greatest gift in the world to watch them walk out a little lighter, a little brighter.
The more you float, the less you let things get to you in the real world.
Think of it like a bucket - day to day frustrations start to fill your bucket. When the bucket is full, you feel completely stressed out, burnt out, and even sick. When you take time for yourself, you empty that heavy bucket, but then each day, little things start piling up in the bucket again, one at a time until the bucket is full again.
But if you prioritize your self-care, you're constantly emptying that bucket so you don't reach the point of being completely overwhelmed again.
We see you, strong warriors. It's okay to be fiercely independent and still ask for support. Having a network at your back only makes you stronger.

Some days, it seems impossible to get the brain to settle down for a relaxing float. When that happens, try body scanning.
✅ Start with your toes, and try to feel each one.
✅ Maybe curl them as you breathe in, then release on an exhale.
✅ Slowly move your awareness up your legs, from your ankles to your calves, knees, and so on.
✅ Try to notice any sensations, and then tighten and release each muscle group as you breathe.
✅ Take your time moving all the way up the body to the top of your head.
🔃 Repeat if necessary.
This method can be really effective for bringing you back to the present moment, helping you to calm the busy thoughts 🧠 of the day so you can fully relax and drop into the float experience.
We see you walk through the door, completely stressed out.
And then you walk out in a state of bliss.
That's pretty awesome.

What's important to you? Does your schedule reflect that?
It might be time to reprioritize yourself. Perhaps you'd like to float on that thought?
You can be a rock star, the best of the best, and still allow yourself the gift of learning more, trying new things, or gaining new insights.
Hey you.
You deserve some time for yourself.
Maybe you should schedule your next float. 😍
Unfortunately, we can't enchant our mirrors to tell us what we want to hear. When you look in the mirror, do you see the version of you that you want to see?
If you're looking at a version of you that's a little more tired or stressed than you expected, it might be time to take action. Since we can't trick the mirror, we'll just have to take some time to relax and refresh. Come see us for a float, then check to mirror to see if the magic worked!
When I heard this quote, it instantly made me think about how folks sometimes say they could never try floating. Their reason is usually that they would be so bored, don't want to be alone with their thoughts, or just don't have the time for it.
And in any of those cases, they're right. If you don't think it'll be worth your time, it won't.
But we see guests every single day constantly amazed at how great they feel post-float.
That's pretty awesome.
When did it become a competition? So many of us are fighting silent battles. We can stay grounded, find gratitude, and still allow ourselves to feel what we feel so we can move through it when the time is right.
It doesn't matter how much time is left. When you're floating, try not to think about time. Just let yourself be right where you are, free from anything that demands your attention.
Just rest. We'll take care of that whole time thing on the other side of the door.
With so many opportunities, activities, and responsibilities vying for our time, it is important that we place them into our lives in the right order. Think of your life like a beautiful bowl sitting on a table.
1️⃣ The big, non-negotiable items, those items that align with your values and needs, those are like rocks and we need to put those into our bowl first because they are most important. ☮ Be sure to place your self-care, wellness, and inner peace rocks in first.
2️⃣ Next place the things that are also important, but don't have the same self-sustaining impact on us like the items we identified as our rocks; we will call those items pebbles. We can filter the pebbles into the bowl and let them settle around the rocks.
3️⃣ Last are those little things that want our attention, but they are even less important and tend to simply fill our days if we let them. Give them the priority they deserve and place them into your bowl last so they may settle like sand into the remaining open spaces.
⭐ When we fill our bowl in this order, we give priority to that which is in alignment with us while still attending to other obligations. If we reverse the order of how we fill our bowl, it will quickly fill with the sand and pebbles leaving little space for our rocks; those things that are most important to living long, healthy, and happy lives.
Plus a million other reasons!
When's your next float? 😉
So often, we think we have to pick a side. It's okay to feel what you feel AND have empathy.
A study called "The Blue Mind Project" involved neuroscientists completing brain scans to compare first-time floaters with experienced floaters using an electroencephalograph (EEG), a machine used to measure brain wave activity.
They found that even in those who were not experienced in meditation, their brain activity was similar to that of high level meditators like monks, who spend hours each day in a meditative state.
Many of us know the benefits of meditation, but have a hard time achieving that single point of focus. Without the normal distractions caused by the 5 senses, meditative brain activity is much easier to achieve in the float environment.

Our Story
Greg has been involved in the health and wellness industry since 2007. While in school for nutrition, working in the wellness department of his community grocery co-op and learning everything he could about being as self-sufficient as possible on farm he was renting, his stress levels were becoming difficult to manage. He discovered float therapy back in 2011, and after hearing about the physical and mental benefits, he had to give it a try. He drove down to what was then the closest float center in the area, a place in Chicago that has offered floating since the early 1980's. That first float changed everything. It was like a complete physical and mental reset. For the next 3 years he made the 5 hour round-trip every few months to float for that reset of body and mind. Eventually, he grew tired of trying to convince friends to open up a place in Madison, and he decided that he would be the one to provide the revolutionary tool to his community.
