Helios is a registered student organization at UW-Madison.
We work with both campus and Madison city officials to design and implement sustainability projects, specifically solar energy, on our campus. http://www.heliosuw.org/

On Friday, November 17th, join a campus sustainability tour and student discussion with elected officials! The tour will start at 2 pm outside 21 N Park St (next to Smith Residence Hall), and the discussion will start at 3 pm and be held at Memorial Union (Profile Room, 2nd floor).
You won't want to miss this one! On Wednesday, September 15th, at 5:30 PM in Union South (Governance Room, 2nd floor), Josh Arnold, the Office of Sustainability's Campus Energy Advisor will be joining us at our general meeting to talk about his work and answer your questions!

The Ethical and Responsible Business Network (ERBN) and the Social and Environmental Business Advocates (SEBA) have partnered with the Wisconsin School of Business Career Engagement Studio to host Sustainability Networking Night on Tuesday, November 14th from 5:00-8:00 PM. This event will feature over a dozen companies joining us to help students build industry connections, familiarize themselves with existing opportunities, and explore internship and career options. The second annual UW–Madison Sustainability Symposium will take place on Wednesday, October 25 from 1pm - 5:30pm in the Wisconsin Institute for Discovery. The Symposium will feature lightning talks, posters, refreshments, and a keynote from Dr. Weslynne Ashton entitled "Crafting a just, equitable, and circular food system." All students,
staff, and faculty are welcome to attend this no-cost event.

Save the date for the West Campus Development Forum, a session to learn about the West Campus District Plan and provide feedback to the developers about the plan. If you would like to provide input before the event about what you are most interested in learning about and seeing including in the West Campus District Plan, please fill out the form in the QR code (also linked in bio).
Our next general meeting is on Wednesday, October 18th, at 5:30 PM in Union South (check the TITU screen for the room)! We'll have team updates and after the meeting, we'll be participating in the City of Madison Sustainability Plan focus group for anyone who wants to join!

new micro-grid just dropped ‼️
This semester, the Helios Engineering Team revamped the solar micro-grid, a solar panel that captures energy from the sun, converts it to electricity, and stores it in a battery to power devices, such as a lamp! The team also designed and assembled a new frame and added an ammeter to measure energy efficiency.
