We took the first few days of April to retreat with the Lord together! YWAM Northwoods graciously hosted us as we prayed, worshiped, and played together! And amid the fellowship and card games we meditated on the life of Jesus:

We spent time discussing and praying how we might live in the cycle of grace that Jesus exemplifies: accepting our identity from God, finding sustenance in the Father, bearing significance in our calling as image-bearers, and experiencing fruitfulness in ministry. And then we do it all over again, living in this balance of receiving love and giving love in relationship with the Father.

Throughout the world millions of children are orphaned through war, through AIDS, through extreme poverty. Every seven seconds a child dies from a preventable disease. Drug addiction runs rampant. Children are sold into prostitution or forced to become child soldiers.⁣
They’re lost and they have no place to live. These children have no hope. And these are the ones that are on the heart of God.

Join us for the Children at Risk elective featured in our Winter Discipleship Training School (DTS) to learn how to engage with God's heart for the lost!

YWAM is working hard to help end Bible poverty worldwide.

And here is finding ways to get the job done in a week-long training session with Wycliffe Bible Translators, where they learned how to “engage in translating, distributing, and unlocking the Bible for those who don’t have access.”

Way to go, YWAM Madison!

For all of you volunteers out there, this amazing team says: “We welcome volunteers with a variety of skills. Those with building and property maintenance skills will always have a variety of tasks to work on. We also have opportunities in the areas of food services, web development and maintenance, and office and administrative services.”

Our Story

YWAM Madison trains young people to show God’s love to the world. We also go into the nations and our own city to show the gospel. You can fit most of our activities into three categories: training, evangelism, and service (or mercy ministry).

Training:
YWAM’s discipleship and training programs aim to better equip Christians to serve as missionaries in a variety of fields. Through YWAM’s University of the Nations (UofN) programs, individuals can study in specialized areas such as science and technology, communications, the humanities or Christian ministry, picking and choosing courses tailored to a specific calling, or pursuing a degree with the UofN.

In Madison, we offer Christian training, Bible studies and Bible schools, missionary training, and more on a wide variety of topics. From hour-long workshops or seminars, to a six-month Bible school, we have programs for people from 13+. The Discipleship Training School is the entry point into joining staff with YWAM or for completing any of the hundreds of University of the Nations courses.

Evangelism:
Christ’s love inspires us to use many creative means to make His gospel understood to any audience – large or small. We use tools such as music, sports and performing arts to connect with people of all ages and develop friendships which can lead to conversations of eternal value.

When working in other cultures and among people of other faiths, Christ’s message of peace is our starting point. We believe everyone has the right to hear this message and our hope is to see fellowships of believers, worshipping and following Jesus in every nation, tribe and tongue.

Service & Mercy:
YWAM operates relief and development programs in over 180 countries, working among people living in desperate circumstances. YWAMers serve in areas such as agricultural assistance, health care, micro enterprise development and with women and children at risk. Their goal is to ease suffering and provide hope for those affected by poverty, disease or injustice.

In Madison, we reach out to incarcerated teens and children from low-income communities, we show compassion to the homeless and bring them meals each week. We also send teams to other communities, in our nation and across the ocean, to meet their needs and show them God’s love.
