Sometimes when you take a foster rabbit, it can turn into a surprise rabbit family. 🐰💕This definitely doesn’t happen often, but that’s kinda what rabbits are known for. 😬

Judy Hopps came to Underdog with a whole group of other bunnies where she was housed with other “females”. The only problem is that rabbits are notoriously hard to distinguish so… there was a slight mix-up in the dividing. 🤷

Judy’s foster has been on “baby watch” for a few weeks, and just when she thought it was a false alarm… BOOM- a lovely nest of blankets and floof Judy plucked from her very own neck made by yours truly… Judy Hopps. Mama rabbits do this to build their nests and keep the babies nice and warm. 🤗

And now, just like mama Judy, foster mama is about to start pulling her hair out 💇‍♀️! We are in need of supplies to keep mama and babies healthy and growing until they’re ready to be adopted in a few weeks. The biggest needs are:

Hello there, human friends! I'm Gabby, a 4-month-old mix of beauty and brains, and I'm here to make your Monday a whole lot better. 🩷 If you love quiet mornings on the porch and cozy nights on the couch, guess what? So do I! I'm on the lookout for a forever home where we can chill and cuddle to our heart's content.

My story didn’t start off good. In fact, me and my siblings were found abandoned in a cardboard box in the 100-degree heat in Oklahoma. We were so confused, so hot, and so scared as we were just little babies not knowing what to do. 🥹 Thankfully someone found us and helped us! AND then later, an Underdog foster picked me to come up to Wisconsin to find my forever home! Lil ole me! 🥹🥹

As I'm ready to find my forever, here is a few things about me:

🐶 I’m as low-maintenance as they come. Give me a comfy spot on the couch, and I'm all set. Sometimes I prefer the floor, I’m just content with love around me. 🩷

🐶 I thrive in any environment. I’m quickly adaptable and just love everything this life has to offer. 😇

🐶 My ideal day? It's simple really. We relax, enjoy each other’s company, and maybe share a treat or two. Oh! I also love my squeaker toy, can’t forget about them! 🤩

Coyo & Yote make the best team! In fact together they make coyote 🐱🐾

Both boys are about 4 months old and adventurous 🥾These little dudes enjoy playing and exploring their surroundings!

Coyo is smaller in size than Yote and his face is leaner; these are their physical characteristics that their foster uses to identify who is who…. Otherwise TWINSIES 👯

Personality-wise, Yote is more vocal 🎤 (he trills more than meows) and definitely takes on the role of leader. Coyo takes a few seconds to evaluate a situation before checking it out, unlike Yote who pretty much just jumps right in; Coyo will scurry away if startled, but quickly returns once he's determined it's safe. 💙

Yote doesn't startle easily, and if he's eating, not even a jumbo jet plane flying overhead would cause him to move! They sleep together and kitty wrestle and play tag. Both enjoy lap time with a human. 🥰

🐾 It's a delight to hear the pitter-patter of their tiny paws as they run through the house! They respect the 3 older and bigger cats in the home, are curious and approach them and can definitely read the room. 🐾

They recently discovered how fun it is to play in the bathtub and making the shower curtain move and make noise. 🛀🚿

They are a super fun and loving pair who would thrive if they were adopted together. If adopted separately, both would absolutely need a playmate/feline friend to bug 😉

Did you know that Paige gets really happy and turns into a baby seal? 🥹

Paige grew up in the shelter, but now at 6 months old she is learning all the doggie things in her foster home! She has figured out that people are AWESOME! And will greet her people with the most slick backed ears ever! SO HAPPY! 😁

She sinks into your lap and absolutely adores all the attention! She gets along great with other pups in her foster home but she’d also likely do great as a solo pup! 🐶 This girl would fit in pretty much anywhere!

She is your typical puppy, however with the brains of a 6 month old 🧠 training has been a breeze! Potty training is pretty set, crate training has been phenomenal, and she’s a natural on the leash! 💖

Paige has some requirements for her forever pawrents 🐾-

3. Must want a puppy

Other than that… Paige is pretty good with whatever life has in store for her 💖

Time to talk about bonded cats! 😻

When cats bond with another cat this is a feline behavior similar to when us humans form close ties with friends and family! With cats at a younger age, they frequently form strong connections with other furry friends. Same when littermates (or even different litters) are raised together, strong bonds form! It’s finding a best friend in the making for life! 👩‍❤️‍👩💑

Cats can use and show these strong relationships by sharing their own space, sleeping together, using the same litter box, and often sharing smells through gestures such as head bunting and making biscuits. 😺

Pupdate on our boy Clifford! 🥰

Sweet Clifford spent 621 days — nearly two years!! — in a shelter before being sprung to become an Underdog last month. 🎉 He’s a sweet 2 year old big boy who weighs about 85 lbs. Clifford does well with other dogs, cats, and kiddos (though older kiddos would probably be better due to his size).

Clifford’s foster reports that he LOVES toys, throws them up in the air to play with himself, and puts himself to bed about 9 pm. 🥹 He spent nearly 2 years living in a shelter kennel, but he’s fully house trained and is quickly learning the ropes of living in a home. He has the biggest smile 😄 and absolutely LOVES being loved!

In other news… with 58 dogs either here or on the way, 🤯we’re going through a lot of dog food these days! Clifford is a big boy who needs lots of nutritious food to keep him feeling his best. Introducing Gadsden - our first ever UNDERCOW!!! 🐮

Gadsden (named for the town where he was found) will officially be our first ever cow to arrive at Underdog. 🐮❤️ He’s a teeny tiny little calf at only 8.5 lbs and 15 weeks old. We’re also told that he’s starting to develop some brindle coloring under all that fluff, but that just means he must be a super rare breed of brindle bovine. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Despite being a farm animal, Gadsden LOVES to play with little dogs (including his pals Stan and Opal!), and gets along great with everyone he meets. 🥰 He will also need to live indoors as he was found in a Walmart parking lot in Alabama a few weeks ago, and has decided that life isn’t for him. ❎

Sweet Gadsden was supposed to come up last month but fell ill with Parvo right before transport. ❤️‍🩹 Unfortunately, so did Stan and Opal. Canine Parvovirus is extremely contagious in unvaccinated dogs or puppies too young to receive vaccines (and apparently cows?) The mortality rate is nearly 100% if left untreated. 😢 Treating Parvo is a labor of love and requires long, scary, emotional days and nights of regular feedings/checks and often IV fluids to keep pups (or calves) going. Luckily for Gadsden, he received excellent care from his foster in the south and all three babies pulled through to become Underdogs THIS WEEKEND!! 🎉🎉

Our hearts are heavy as we share the stories of Stan and Opal that will be coming to Underdog this Saturday.

They’ve had a rough start after being found abandoned on a hot tarmac at a car wash. Unfortunately being on that hot surface their toes and tails were burned. 😭 Their little eyes weren’t even open yet. Thanks to amazing volunteer down south Stan and Opal survived. On top of that, they also survived Parvo! 💪

Stan and Opal have better days ahead as they are joining our Underdog family soon. Often in rescue world we hear these horrific stories and our hearts break. 💔 Knowing we can give them a second chance and better days ahead is what we are here for and what we will continue to do! ❤

Stan and Opal are now thriving and will soon be ready to find their forever homes. However, they'll still need some basic medical care prior to adoption.

Look at these lil babies!! 🥰 Ash and Ember are about 13 weeks old and 7lbs. They arrived this weekend and are already thriving in their foster home.

Ash (brindle, male) is a silly little guy who gets along with everyone he’s met. He’s super brave and loves exploring. 🐾 And after a good romp, Ash is happy to snuggle on the couch!

Ember (brown, female) is happy and curious. She’s super friendly, and her foster thinks she’d do well with dogs of all sizes and cats too! 🤩

Anyone adopting these kids should plan to keep their puppy training going. 📚 They’re smart lil babies who are eager to play and eager to learn!

Folklore loves to play, and enjoys the companionship of another kitty friend! Just like Taylor Swift, she's much more a "Cat Lady" and doesn't enjoy doggie friends.

Aside from being a terrific mama cat, Hazel is also the perfect companion! Whether that be for a human or another kitty, Hazel wants to share all her love 💕

This stunning girl is about 1-2 years old and is a rather playful lady! Hazel loves to play and be silly, and she loves to snuggle. She loves laser pointers and wand toys and has no idea what to do with a real mouse other than drop it on your bed in the middle of the night and yell "LOOK MOM I GOT ONE!" while it runs away. 🐭EEK

She reaches up for hugs with both paws like a toddler. She enjoys being admired and adored. Plus she has a blue ribbon for best ear floof on a cat. You will rarely get a picture of her where she is not cuddling🐈‍⬛

On Wednesday we received a transport full of very lucky rabbits! These kiddos are now enjoying the lush life of all the hay they could ever want, many veggies, and lots of love! 🥬

All rabbits are about 1 year old and have clearly been handled in their past life! While these bunnies decompress we are excited to see just how fun they will be! 🥳

What is littermate syndrome? 🐾

Littermate syndrome refers to the potential behavioral problems that can arise when puppies from the same litter are raised together. Without lots of proper individual attention, littermates may bond more closely with each other than with you. This can lead to under socialization with humans as well. Puppies need to learn to function independently to develop into confident adult dogs.

Having one puppy at a time gives you and that puppy individualized time to work on basic training such as house training, crate training, leash training, etc. It also gives them the time to bond with you, their forever human! ❤️

Now time to talk about Ticker! 🤩

Ticker was born in Underdog care with her littermates. They have now all found their own homes and she is waiting for her own! Perfect opportunity to adopt one puppy and work on the things above!

Ticker got her name because she has a heart shape patch of fur on her body! She’s a happy, spunky, and smart girl. Already knows sit, shake, and sit pretty! 🥳

✨Sneak peak✨ for a true Underdog, Finn🐾

Finn is arriving this Saturday, and survived a brutal knife attack by a human 😫😡 Thanks to a southern humane society, Finn received emergency life saving surgery and is now a healthy and happy pup! Finn is around 50lbs, and LOVES every person and dog he meets! 🥰

Finn's southern forster reports that he is a smartie who knows sit and down, and walks well on a leash. He enjoys chew toys, bones and playing outside!

We are so excited to welcome a survivor like Finn into our Underdog community ❤️
