WisDOT sent the following notice today regarding the BIL STP-Local program:
Application materials for a supplemental $2 million Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) Federal Fiscal Year 2024 (FFY24) Surface Transportation Program-Local (STP-Local) project solicitation are now available on the WisDOT website.
The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) allows states to fund up to 15% of STP-small urban and STP-Rural federal funding allocations on minor collectors and local roads. With this new flexibility, in spring 2022,
WisDOT created a new component of the STP program called STP-Local. This program component provides funding to roadways that previously were not eligible for federal funds through STP.
The roadway must be functionally classified as a Minor Collector or Local Road and must also be located outside of urbanized areas (a population of less than 50,000) to be eligible for STP-Local funds.
This supplemental STP-Local solicitation will have a $2,000,000 total program funding availability and will exclusively focus on construction projects which have designs already completed.
To be considered for funding in this FFY24 STP-Local solicitation, local agencies must apply by March 24, 2023.
The department will be conducting an informational webinar regarding this supplemental FFY24 BIL STP-Local project solicitation. Details on this webinar will be provided soon.
