Let's breakdown some fitness terminology!
An ๐ข๐ฌ๐จ๐ฆ๐๐ญ๐ซ๐ข๐ ๐๐ฑ๐๐ซ๐๐ข๐ฌ๐ involves tightening or contracting a muscle, but not lengenthing the muscle. There is very little notice in movement.
Planks and wall sit/squats provide the best examples of this kind of exercise. And because there is very little movement, these exercises are suitable for people with a limited range of motion.

Getting at least 30 minutes of physical activity at least five days a week can make a big difference to your general health and well-being.
Physical activity is linked to a lower risk of colorectal, breast and endometrial cancers, and there is some evidence that also links it to reducing the risk of other cancers.
Do I really need 10,000 steps per day? The key is to make it a priority to move more and sit less, and weโre bringing you tips for every starting point.
You have to put in the work
Today's workout uses minimal equipmentโset of dumbbells, kettlebells or two water jugs. The reps & rounds can easily be scaled based on ability level. Enjoy!โโโโโโโโ

Lean muscle mass lowers the risk of certain diseases, improves bone density and reduces the risk of osteopenia and osteoporosis. It also boosts your metabolism!
For adults, two or more days a week of strength training is needed for the major muscle groups. Kids and teens should aim for three days.

Backpack safety. Don't skip the last one!
Carrying a heavy backpack changes posture, walking speed, step length, and more. If possible, lighten the load or place the heaviest items closest to the back. A backpack with a chest strap and hip belt can help distribute the load.
Backpacks should rest evenly in the middle of the back (strongest mid-back muscles). Both straps should always be worn. Adjusting the straps allows the backpack to be taken on and off without difficulty and allows free movement of the arms.

Let's breakdown some fitness terminology!
A ๐๐จ๐ฆ๐ฉ๐จ๐ฎ๐ง๐ ๐๐ฑ๐๐ซ๐๐ข๐ฌ๐ uses multiple muscle groups as well as multiple joints at the same time during a rep. Squats are a good example of a compound exercise. Muscles targeted include the quadriceps, glutes, and calves.
In contrast, ๐ข๐ฌ๐จ๐ฅ๐๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐๐ฑ๐๐ซ๐๐ข๐ฌ๐๐ฌ focus on only one muscle group or one joint. Calve raises only focus on the calves and bicep curls only focus on the biceps.
With any exercise, focus on your form and technique to prevent injury, and never continue if you are feeling pain.
