Congrats to Fernbrook Elementary School's Destination Imagination (DI) teams “People of Pi” and “Technical for Real” for taking first and second place in the state competition! Registration is open for the 14th annual Reading is Fun 5K on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at Elm Creek Park Reserve. This family-friendly event will raise funds to purchase learning resources for media centers (libraries) in Osseo Area Schools. Register today and get early bird pricing and a guaranteed t-shirt!

Our grant deadline of March 31 is just a month away and we still have dollars available. Do you have an innovative project that would support scholars or enhance learning in Osseo Area Schools? District 279 Foundation's Grants Program can make a difference for scholars by providing funding for innovative and creative projects in Osseo Area Schools like this Pick Your Groove and Start to Move project for students at Osseo Area Learning Center (OALC). Any district employee, school volunteer or community member can apply. Applications may be submitted through March 31.

Woodland Elementary fifth graders focus on kindness with a retreat The Woodland Elementary gym was buzzing with excitement and energy Jan. 19 as the school’s fifth graders took part in a Kindness Retreat put on by Youth Frontiers.

The auction for the A Night Out at the Speakeasy will close on Friday at 8 p.m. You do not have attend the event to bid on the mobile auction items. Brooklyn Middle STEAM School brings in percussion trio for music students A group called The Minnesota Percussion Trio came to Park Center Senior High’s auditorium on Jan. 5 to perform for all students who participate in music programs at Brooklyn Middle STEAM School (BMS.)

Registration closes on Monday, January 22 for District 279 Foundation’s A Night Out at the Speakeasy. Join us on Friday, February 2, at Edinburgh USA Golf Course. The evening will include a social hour with appetizers and cash bar, activities, silent/live auction, dinner and program.
