Email and social media posts differ from face-to-face communication in its restriction of nonverbal cues that build trust, rapport and empathy. While it can be more convenient and comfortable to use text based communication, in person communication is more effective than electronic exchanges.
If new sponsor acquisition is a goal, don't rely on email to tell your organization's story. Get face-to-face with your audience.

In one study, 45 participants asked 450 strangers (10 strangers each) to complete a brief survey. All participants made the exact same request following the exact same script. However, half made their requests over email, while the other half asked face-to-face. In the end, face-to-face requests were 34 times more effective than emailed ones.
If we know that a face-to-face 'ask' is more effective than a digital one, why do we continue to rely so heavily on text to tell the organization's story? Get face-to-face with your audience.

Research published in the Journal of Experimental Social Psychology found that people tend to overestimate the power of text based communication and underestimate the power of face-to-face communication.
Relying heavily on text to tell your organization's story will impact new sponsor acquisition. Get face-to-face with your audience.

Cristian's Christmas Wish!
This sweet little boy and his family need help. This is one of BrightPoint's ministry partners - it's a real, vetted need.
Cristian lives in Guatemala with his parents and younger brother. In October 2022, an MRI found masses in his brain. He has undergone 37 chemo treatments which have helped to reduce the tumors. His treatment involves monthly check-ups and MRI scan every 3 months. Sponsors help his family cover the costs of diapers, vitamins, serum, Pediasure, medicine and MRI scans.
BrightPoint has opened 10 sponsorship slots to help with his care - 6 remain unfilled. You can fill 1 spot or 6, your choice.
Please help if you can.

Tragic stories with happy endings!
The impact of education cannot be overstated. In low-income countries, even one year of schooling can increase a person’s future income by 10%. Education has been linked to better health outcomes for individuals and communities. Education provides emotional support to children, helping to improve their confidence, self-esteem, and overall well-being.
Recently, we contacted a few of our former students for updates. These responses were made possible because of your generosity!

“Every day, I wake up uncertain about the future. I ask God, ‘What is next?’ God heard my prayers and provided relief.”
Kavutha’s alcoholic and abusive father left the family when she was only two. Due to the difficulty of raising four children on her own, her mother had a breakdown and disappeared. Her poor grandmother raised her, and, as a result, she frequently missed school because they couldn’t afford tuition. After completing 8th grade, marriage appeared to be the only option in front of her. Instead, she was able to enroll in secondary school. Now, her future is ripe with possibilities like entrepreneurship, university, and so much more.
