The December 5th Fund

We just wrapped up a property review for our next volunteer event. We’re going to need 50 volunteers for this day so be on the lookout in the coming weeks to sign-up for this September or October event.

🌟 On June 29th, our community showed the true meaning of compassion! Thirty amazing volunteers came together to support a family facing the challenges of cancer. With rakes, dust cloths, and brooms, they transformed a home into a sanctuary of cleanliness and comfort. Every sweep and wipe was a heartfelt gesture of love and support. The day was filled with laughter and camaraderie as everyone witnessed the incredible difference their efforts made. This act of kindness became a powerful reminder of the strength and beauty of our community spirit. When cancer consumes every moment of your life with treatments and recovery, even the simplest tasks can feel overwhelming. That’s when a community steps in. A heartfelt thank you to the 30 volunteers who came together to support a family in need. Your kindness made all the difference. From all of us at D5F, thank you for helping us make this family’s day. That’s a wrap!

We’ve wrapped up at the house, and the family is on their way home to see the magic we’ve created. After some well-deserved relaxation, they’ll head to in Eureka for a relaxing dinner for 10, celebrating an evening filled with laughter and love.

After a morning filled with delicious food, our D5F family is now unleashing their energy with nonstop fun at ! They’re in for an unforgettable afternoon of excitement before returning home to see the amazing transformations we’ve made.

Our family is kicking off their day with a hearty breakfast for 15 at The Shack in Valley Park. It’s a perfect opportunity to reconnect with loved ones before diving into their big day.

We are incredibly honored and grateful to have been selected as a Grant recipient by the The St. Louis Men's Group Against Cancer at their annual grant award luncheon. As a 501(c)3 non-profit, this amazing organization raises crucial funds for cancer-related research, prevention, and care in the St. Louis community.

Thank you for supporting The December 5th Fund and our mission to make a difference for families affected by cancer. Together, along with many other great cancer support organizations, we can continue to bring hope and support to those who need it most.

The D5F team just wrapped up our latest property review. Be on the lookout in the coming weeks to sign-up for this 40 person volunteer effort in Pacific, Mo.

Give STL Day is officially here. Your contributions today will go towards our Helping Hands Support Program. A program that was inspired by the close-knit community that surrounded our Founder while he cared for his cancer-stricken late wife and family.

During that tumultuous time, this community made sure that everyday necessities were taken care of - meals, laundry, lawn care, and housecleaning.

It's Feel-Good-Friday and we'd like to share a nice little note we received regarding our non-contact programming we implemented in 2020. It was a crazy time in the world and we knew we couldn't just cease our programming so we came up with a great solution!

My husband and I were talking about your foundation the other day. You relieved a burden off our shoulders and really brought us a lot of joy. It was scary being thousands of miles from home, with a critically ill child, in the middle of a pandemic. We are grateful to you for the compassion your organization provided our family.

Louisa just celebrated three years in remission. She relapsed again in October 2020, after the clinical trial in St Louis. She had a second bone marrow transplant in February 2021.

Anyways, just a note to say thank you. I’m sorry it’s so late!
