This is right here. Big thanks to Martin Godwin and his family for to the THOMPSON Child & Family Focus .
Local former high school student-athlete Martin Godwin created a compelling program, called “Shut Out the Stigma” that raised thousands of dollars for mental health every time his soccer team achieved a “shut-out” win. Inspired by Thompson’s mission, he donated the money to our programs. His efforts were so impressive to the Thompson Board that they started a dollar-for-dollar match! Now a rising freshman, Godwin is in college, but still raising money for mental health. “Many shun running themselves like a business thinking that purpose trumps profit. Unfortunately, even though nonprofits are not driven by money, failing to adopt good for-profit business practices will often leave these well-intended nonprofits struggling to create the impact they were designed to make.”
Why the Best Nonprofit Organizations Steal Pages From For-Profit Business Playbooks Being a nonprofit organization doesn't mean you can ignore good business practices.

We are so proud that all 20 parents have successfully completed the course! Our facilitators Emely and Jessica received this sweet note written by the child of one of our parents - the note says, “Thank you Emely and Jessica” - the child also went on to tell the facilitators that he appreciates his mother taking the classes because she is no longer yelling at him.
This program is just one of our evidence-based parenting classes that strengthens parent-child interactions to promote children’s social and emotional skills. Find out more at https://www.thompsoncff.org/family-education-partners/
