October and November is the time to plant if you want armfuls like these next spring! We have several varieties available. Come see us!

Do you have any extra hand tools sitting around collecting dust? Renfrow Hardware is inviting our community to come together and support those affected by Hurricane Helene in western NC. In response to the devastation, we are hosting a gently used tool drive for the next two weeks (October 23 - November 2), collecting tools in good condition that will aid in the recovery efforts. The tools needed most are those suited for rough construction and cleanup tasks, including shovels, rakes, sledgehammers, pry bars, and similar items. Your contributions will help equip the recovery teams working tirelessly in the mountains to rebuild and restore the affected areas.

Tools will be accepted any time during business hours (Wed-Fri, 8AM - 4PM) inside the store and also on Saturdays from 8AM - 2pm in the rear parking lot. For Saturday drop off, please deposit tools into the barrel along the rear parking lot fence.

We experienced a patchy frost at the farm this morning, mostly in the low lying fields and on the grass. It’s always interesting to see where frost forms and where it passes over on the property.

Last week a customer came in and shared these pictures with us of her experience with the recent armyworm invasions. This damage to her front yard occurred in less than one week. Act quickly if you find armyworms in your lawn! The remaining green were weeds and bermudagrass she had been attempting to eradicate before the armyworms arrived. Of course they left those things alone!

Come see us if your lawn is attacked by a later generation of these caterpillars sometime this fall.

Tomatoes and eggplant are available at the hardware store this week! We were later than usual getting tomato plants in the ground this year, but that means that we will have tomatoes available further into the year.
