Rotary Club of Matthews
Our club meets Mondays from 12:30pm to 1:30pm for lunch at the Levine Senior Center. Visitors are more than welcome to attend.
The Matthews Rotary Club has three main goals: Fellowship with professionals from across our community, giving back to our community, both locally and internationally, and encourage high ethical standards in all vocations We usually have a program with a speaker of interest from outside the club. We also have social events throughout the year for members and spouses.

A new member and a better understanding of mental health.
**Monday July 1st our Rotary club will meet at the regular time of 12:30. **
Marty McInerney"s induction as our Rotary President was this last Monday.
We had a fantastic meal prepared by Chef Andrew which included Prime Rib, Chicken, Truffle Mashed Potatoes, Asparagus, Salad and Raspberry Cheesecake for dessert!

Rotary Means Business had a great event May 21st at the Oaklore Distillery in Matthews, NC.
Business minded Rotarians coming together to help each other. Meeting new people from different rotary groups = priceless!
We had a great meeting Monday at the MPD.
With a full room between Rotarians and police officers we honored Cpl. Chuck Blevins as our Matthews Police Dept. Officer of the Quarter. His fellow officers think very highly of him and say that Cpl. Blevins truly serves and wears the badge as they are supposed to. It has been a lifelong commitment to serve and protect others that he does not take lightly.

**Meeting Schedule Changes**
The MPD will be attending the funeral for one of the fallen officers from last weeks shootings and has asked us to move the Police Officer of the Quarter awards to May 20th.
We will be at Atrium Health on the 13th.

What a great meeting we had last Monday!
Andrew Pickering introduced us to the speakers for
Project Outpour. He has volunteered with them in Charlotte and asked them to join us. What a great service they provide for people who are in need of a shower. They also provide them with toiletries, socks, underwear, etc... Some of the people they help may be unhoused at the moment but are able to keep their jobs because of this program.
