You can serve in one of two ways: bring your family and join us as we engage and minister to our neighbors in Matthews, or you can serve on the prayer team that meets in the south lobby. Our Senior Pastor Kevin DeYoung, along with our pastoral staff, will host a prayer service in our sanctuary today, Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at 5:30 pm. In light of what happened in Charlotte yesterday, we will spend time praying for our city and for our police officers that serve both here in Matthews and in Charlotte. If you are able to join us today for this prayer service, we hope you will. If you are unable to join us in person, we hope you will take time today to pray for our city and the men and women who serve our city. There will be no livestream for this prayer service.

Please join us for a church-wide spring picnic immediately following morning worship on Sunday, April 14, 2024. The church will provide drinks and dessert. You provide your picnic lunch!

You can pack your own family’s lunch or get together with your small group, Bible study, people you sit with at church, or friends and divide up the menu to bring part of your picnic. Bring blankets and/or lawn chairs, as we will be outside on the lawn. Some inside seating will be available. We hope to see you there!

There is an unholy trinity at work in the world. It's not an exaggeration, that's exactly what we are taught in this chapter (Revelation 13). And this unholy trinity wants you to fall for all of its tricks. Remember, the powers of darkness are not creative, they're copycats. Like someone online who's cynical and pugnacious and they build their brand by distorting or tearing down other people or perverting what others have done, the devil has no currency of his own. There is no diabolical currency. Well, there is, but he only deals in counterfeits. He's a liar. He's a deceiver. -Kevin DeYoung
