It's Pride Month! One of our CASA Guiding Principles is that we recognize the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion and *all* children should be safe, have a permanent home, and an opportunity to thrive. LGBTQ+ youth are overrepresented in the child welfare system and they need CASA volunteers who will provide empathetic, gender-affirming advocacy. Consider becoming a CASA volunteer today and help children thrive. If you are interested in volunteering, visit www.tbtcasa.com or call (606) 563-7431.

We should be engaging youth early and throughout their time in foster care. Young people must have equitable opportunities to build supportive, caring relationships that nurture their development, well-being, and future goals.

The Buffalo Trace CASA Program, Inc. is so sorry to hear of the passing of Kirby Wright. Kirby was our program's first Executive Director and served from 2000-2004. Kirby laid the foundation for the program we have today. We are forever grateful for all he has done for our community and he will certainly be missed. Even though Kirby no longer served as Executive Director, he continued to support CASA's mission and our local program. Many prayers to the Wright Family today and in the days to come. ❤️
