Say hello to the Harris family, joining us from Texas!

These long-time supporters were excited to see the ministry of Naomi's Village in person and spend time with their sponsored children. They spent their time engaging in outreach, touring our campuses, and spending time with our children.

Time with visitors is so special and valued by all of us at Naomi's Village. If you want to learn more about spending time with us in Kenya, email [email protected] today!

As we are preparing for this year's Children's 5K, we're remembering some of our favorite moments from past races.

We have created memories together over the years filled with laughter, dancing, games, and sweet treats. We are so excited for the fifth annual Children's 5K this October and all the memories we will make! ❤️

In May, Millicent, a young adult at Naomi’s Village Home, was approved for a student visa to study in the U.S. at Harding University.

At the beginning of August, Millicent took her first plane ride from Nairobi, Kenya, to Dallas, Texas, where she spent two weeks meeting with her sponsors and special friends, learning about life in the U.S., and preparing to begin her first year of college. Last week, she packed all her belongings and rode to Searcy, Arkansas, where she finally saw her new home for the next four years!

Millicent is now settled into her dorm room at Harding University and began her first day of class yesterday. Please pray with us as she is navigating this new and exciting chapter of her life, making new friends, and begins studying human biology with aspirations to become a doctor! ❤️

This month, we welcomed a team of Linville Hill Christian School Alumni. Every year, this school sends its graduating class to Kenya, and over time Naomi's Village and Linville have formed a special bond, now expanding to the school's alumnus.

This group of alumni spent the week engaging in nightly devotions, Cornerstone chapels and sports days, outreaches, and continuing to deepen connections with children and families across the ministry.

We are so thankful for Linville and all the ways they pour into our ministry, and we're looking forward to their next trip! As Bob Mendonsa, Co-Founder of Naomi's Village, and Matt Buckwalter, Head of School at Linville, noted earlier this year, you can't have Linville without NV. ❤️

We loved having two U.S. Staff members and their spouses at Naomi's Village for a week!

It is so important for our staff in the States to visit Kenya and spend time with our children, seeing firsthand how the ministry operates.

We're so thankful for Lori, Bryan, Larisa, and David as they spent time engaging in the community and building relationships that will last long after their return to the U.S. ❤️

The Children’s 5K is one of our most cherished days of the year in Kenya, and it would not be possible without the support of our Naomi's Village family!

By giving to support a child’s participation in our 5K, you are strengthening their sense of belonging and helping them build a stronger foundation for their future.

Recently, our student council went to a leadership training camp, engaging in team-building activities and leadership challenges.

These activities boost growth in our students, strengthening their communication, leadership, trust, problem-solving, confidence, creativity, and more.

We're so proud of this group of leaders and their hard work this school year as student council members! 🌟

At the end of July, we said see you soon to a wonderful family who visited Naomi's Village. Zak, Rebekah, James, and John Thobaben joined us from Kentucky, serving our community in many ways.

The Thobabens filled their time building bunk beds, delivering food packages to moms in our MTOTO program, leading chapels and evening devotions, ministering to community families, and sharing deep love and laughter with our children.

We are so grateful for the time they chose to spend with us, the love in action they shared, and the relationships they built that will last long after their departure. We look forward to their return to Kenya and Naomi's Village! ❤️

Today is a very special day at Naomi's Village Home. It's Violet, Stella M., and Leon's 5-year homecoming anniversary! On August 8th, 2019, we welcomed all three of these precious little ones home to Naomi's Village and were never the same.

Today, Violet is 7 years old and her radiant smile and sweet giggle reminds us of the constant joy of the Lord. Stella is 9 years old, loving all things pink and is becoming a wonderful artist. Leon is 6 years old with the brightest smile and a big heart for others.

We can't imagine life without them and are celebrating all God has done and will continue to do in their lives. Pray with us for their dreams and futures as they continue to grow! ❤️

Help us welcome Emmi and Libby, nurses from Georgia and Oklahoma who visited Naomi's Village for two weeks in July.

These friends met during their internships in 2022, and have returned twice more together. This year, they spent their time leading holistic wellness fairs for both the MTOTO Early Childhood Program and for high schoolers at Cornerstone Preparatory Academy.

Libby stayed in Kenya to complete another internship, and will be with us until the end of August! We are so grateful for these two young leaders in their field who continue serving with us in Kenya. ❤️

On Monday, April 29, after weeks of heavy rains, a blocked railway tunnel burst, flooding the valley below with 400 million gallons of water, demolishing homes and everything in its path.

Recently, Naomi's Village distributed gas cylinders and water tanks to local families and households affected by the flooding in April.

Our team remains committed to serving this community as they continue to heal. We are grateful for your continued prayers and support. ❤️

Please help us welcome St. Anne's Church from Annapolis, Maryland!

St. Anne's Church has invested in the ministry of Naomi's Village in many ways over the years, including sponsoring two children at Cornerstone Preparatory Academy, Hellen and Antony, visiting us in Kenya, and hosting us at their church every year.

During their time in Kenya, the St. Anne's team spent quality time in each of their sponsored child's homes, building relationships and ministering to the children. We are so grateful for this church congregation, their generosity, and commitment to the ministry of Naomi's Village. We look forward to welcoming them back in the future! 💞

Millicent, a young adult at Naomi's Village Home, is traveling into Nairobi this afternoon to depart for the United States! We are thrilled for her to begin studying Human Biology at Harding University in a few weeks.

In the coming days, she will have many new experiences, including her first plane ride, adjusting to life in a different country, cars on the opposite side of the road, Chick-fil-A for the first time, and so much more.

Join us in praying over this journey for Millicent and all the transition she will experience in the coming months. ❤️

"The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged." Deuteronomy 3:18

The early stages of life, particularly birth to three-years-old, are the most vital years for a child's development.

Our MTOTO initiative empowers mothers to meet their growing baby's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical needs. Through a variety of interventions, we help foster healthy attachment between mom and baby, along with teaching the mothers about critical brain wiring in their child's formative years.

We believe that by targeting our resources at the earliest development of our community's most vulnerable members, we are raising the caring and responsible future leaders Kenya needs to thrive. ❤️

It's the final day of my takeover, and I'm so excited to share my favorite part of being at Naomi's Village, spending time with my sponsored children!

I began sponsoring Beatrice and Peter last year and have enjoyed learning more about them from sponsorship communications. Visiting them here in Kenya was a special experience, especially when I met Beatrice and her family. The best part of every day for me is walking down to the dorms at Naomi's Village Home and seeing Peter, even if it's only five minutes! ❤️

Thanks for following along the last week, as I've shared some of my favorite moments. I look forward to meeting you in the future, either in the U.S. or Kenya! If you have any questions about child sponsorship, email [email protected].

I have been so encouraged by the community here. Now more than ever I believe the Lord provides community everywhere!

On July 17th, the group of interns here threw a surprise party for me and another staff whose birthday was the following day. It was such a thoughtful evening and so intentional.

After eating the amazing confetti cake baked by the interns, I walked down to the kid's dorms for evening devotionals, met by the small boys carrying buckets of water to pour on me, a Kenyan birthday tradition called "washing." While it was quite cold after being drenched with water, I felt so celebrated and loved by all the kids. 🎂❤️

During my time in Kenya, I connect team members with their sponsored child, for shared time getting to know each other. This is a moving experience to see hearts change as sponsors meet the remarkable children they support.

This was a memorable moment as the Tyler family reconnected with brothers Allan, Peter, and Michael, whose homecoming they attended the previous year. Together, they recounted the glorious day the boys came home to Naomi's Village and admired their growth in the last year.

I'm thankful for these precious moments and look forward to many more! ❤️

In early July, I had the opportunity to be at Naomi's Village with my younger sister, Ella, who was visiting as an intern for five weeks.

This is a special experience to share, allowing us to understand each other better and strengthen our relationship as sisters. I witnessed the Lord changing her heart through her time here, and it was so sweet to come in after she had spent four weeks building relationships with kids I know and love!

Interns serve for 6-8 weeks and spend their time building lifelong relationships with our children, staff, and community members while immersing in daily life at Naomi’s Village. If you're considering an internship with us, look out for the application opening this fall. 🎉

One of my favorite things about visiting Naomi's Village is our church gathering every Sunday morning to worship the Lord. It's so special to see all the ways they worship. Whether through dancing, singing, or scripture memory, the redemption in their lives is so clear.

Last Sunday, the small boys presented an amazing new dance. I enjoy watching the kids cheer each other on in all things, especially as they worship.

Enjoy this video of the Naomi's Village small boys dancing! 🌟

Hi, I'm Maddy Ray, the US Child Sponsor Relations Coordinator, and I've been visiting Naomi's Village in Kenya for over three weeks now.

This week, I'm taking over the Naomi's Village social media pages to give you a glimpse of what my days look like here. It has been a full few weeks with visiting teams, community outreaches, helping interns with projects, attending devotions and evening activities, and of course, coffee runs! ☕

Stay tuned this week as I bring you along for some of my favorite moments here in Kenya. 🌟
