When I started at FIT in September 2023, I wanted to loose pounds and feel stronger.
I am a member at a local gym, and take group fitness classes, but I knew that I needed to lift heavier weights with good form and change my eating habits. With the help of FIT trainer, Louis, setting my macros, “I need to eat how much protein daily!?!😳” ; I started to see change in my hunger cravings, energy levels, mood, and sleep. Even though I have only lost 8 pounds, I am gaining muscle and strength.
I was afraid to lift heavy weights, because I knew that I didn’t have good form. Louis keeps me in check with my posture while lifting and increases the weights with each set of a workout circuit.
A lesson I’ve learned from strength training is that not only am I strong, but also that I need to stop underestimating myself, be patient, follow nutrition plans and always be persistent. Remember that success looks different for everyone.

Hello! I wanted to share our FitSBR success story.
My son Austin started training with trainer Austin in April. My son was involved in a car accident 3 years ago where he was hit by a car while riding his bike. He spent many months in a wheelchair followed by countless PT. For the past 3 years his orthopedic surgeon has been preparing us for a surgery to fuse Austin’s growth plates in his legs because the bones were growing at different speeds due to the fracture he sustained. We chose to put him in personal training to work on flexibility and mobility in his legs because we knew it would help when it came time to have his surgery. Last week my son had his 6 month x-ray to check the growth status and to our surprise his bones have evened out and his surgeon has completely released him.
Miraculously he no longer needs surgery and his legs are back to being the same length. We truly believe his success is because of the work he and Austin have put in the past few months so thank you!

This is David. He is currently halfway around the world on a business trip. Working long hours and probably pretty jet lagged. Getting to know Austin
Why did you decide to pursue personal training?
Fitness has always been a huge part of my life. During my early years, fitness was always about improving my sports performance on the court or field. In life after sports and in more recent years, fitness has become more important to my lifestyle in general and has helped me through many hard times. Training has improved more than just my physical health. After spending some time working in a Physical therapy clinic with a wide variety of patients, I found a passion in helping others improve their physical health. My experience in both the physical therapy world and as an athlete led me to pursue helping individuals in a more active setting, which motivated me to pursue personal training.
What would you want someone to know who is considering personal training?
Personal training should create a positive environment and relationship between a coach and client, in which it can benefit you both inside and outside of the gym. It should be more than just someone providing exercises for you that you can complete at the pace you want.
Personal training should hold you accountable, provide you with resources, and motivate you to become a better version of yourself, along with the exercises and guidance to achieve the results you desire. Everyone’s journey and goals in training are all different, but the one constant for everyone is that the amount of effort you put into training, will directly translate to the results that you get out of it.
What is your personal training philosophy?
Being physically fit is no easy goal. I believe everyone is entitled to the opportunity and is capable of achieving this goal. It takes a certain amount of consistency and motivation in your everyday life, but it is voluntary, the only question is if you are willing to put in the work. If you are willing to make a change in your life and commit to improving little by little everyday, then you will be that much closer to achieving your goals.

Getting to know Louis:
Why did you decide to pursue personal training?
Looking back, I can say fitness saved my life. I experienced many ups and downs in life and fitness has been the one thing that has always gotten me through. When I first started working out, it was clear that this was something I would be doing for the rest of my life. It wasn’t until later in my fitness journey that I decided to pursue personal training. I would always find myself having conversations with everyone about working out and how much value it can add to your life. So, I decided to get my certification with the hopes of helping others reach the best version of themselves through fitness.
What would you want someone to know who is considering personal training?
Personal training is more than helping someone get in physical shape or staying active. It is understanding each individual and the barriers they face both in and outside of the gym. No trainer is perfect. With that said, I would say find a trainer who is always learning and practices what they preach and models what it means to be in shape not just physically but mentally.
Favorite exercise?
Pullups and pushups. Both of these exercises are a constant staple in my daily routine. Push ups are what I consider my first love. It was the very first exercise I started doing to become stronger. However, pull ups on the other hand was my biggest challenge and overtime became one of my favorites because it's simple, effective and can be done just about anywhere.
Biggest food temptation?
Any type of warm dessert (cookie, cakes, brownies, etc) with ice cream. The combination of warm and cold is something special.
