This outrageously fun Bubble Wrap Rain Craft is fun and beautiful to make! Your kids will love the bubble wrap painting technique, and you can make this umbrella craft with children of all ages.
Materials Required:
White Printer Paper
Colored Construction Paper
Stick Glue
Scotch Tape
Bubble Wrap (cut to size)
Blue Tempura or Washable Paint
DIY Procedure:
Make the umbrella using a cup or small bowl and trace a circle onto the colored paper, resulting in two umbrellas. Create the J-shaped handles out of brown construction paper and make a cover to put over the umbrella before painting. Now you are ready to create your DIY rain craft with your students.
First, arrange the umbrella pieces on the white paper, affix them with glue, and set it aside to dry.
Use a paint brush or sponge to paint the top of the bubble wrap blue.
Place the cover paper on the umbrella and tape to secure it in place.
Put the bubble wrap over the umbrella, paint side down.
Let your kids press all over the bubble wrap until the paint is printed onto the white paper, making popping noises.
Slowly peel the bubble wrap and set it aside to avoid a mess.
Now carefully peel up the white paper covering the umbrella.
Your umbrella and rain are ready! Once dry, kids can use crayons, markers, colored pencils, or gel pens to decorate their umbrellas.
