Hey Meeker!!

Press Release:
On August 23, 2024, at approximately 11:34 PM, the Meeker Police Department and Meeker Fire Department were dispatched to the area of 11th and Pinyon, for a reported structure fire. It was also
reported there were possibly three occupants still in the residence.
An MPD Officer arrived on the scene and found the rear porch of the residence fully engulfed along with a male party attempting to extinguish the flames. Meeker Police and Meeker Fire Department were able to ensure all occupants were safely out of the residence.
The three occupants of the residence were then transported to Pioneers Medical Center for treatment.
The MPD Officer on scene transported himself to Pioneers Medical Center after experiencing shortness of breath.

At the time of this release, the three occupants of the residence and the MPD Officer are still in the hospital. The extent of their injuries are unknown, but not reported to be life-threatening.
There is currently a Fire Investigator from the Colorado Division of Fire Prevention and Control on scene assisting with the investigation.

The police department has been made aware of a number of scam calls recently.
Some of the calls appear to be from local numbers referencing Medicaid claims.
Some of the callers claim to be family members or friends needing emergency money for accidents, bond or other reasons. If you receive a call like this proceed with caution, don’t give out any personal information, verify with other family members and never send money to an unknown person or address.
