Happy 102nd birthday to resident Jean Silvernail!

Jean was born in 1922 in upstate New York and her father was a chicken farmer. She went to school in a one-room schoolhouse. Jean married her high school sweetheart Bruce in 1942 before he went off to serve in World War II where he participated in the Battle of the Bulge. Bruce and Jean were avid square dancers for many years and resided in Tropical Haven for more than forty years.

Special thanks to all who celebrated, including Melbourne Mayor Paul Alfrey, who named Jean the Melbourne Citizen of the Day!

Fellas, remember to eat right, stay active and keep your stress in check!
