The Office of Alumni Affairs was delighted to host the incoming student legacies and their families last night at the Folliard Alumni Center. We also celebrated the ceremonial ribbon cutting of the new Larry Pollack Alumni Terrace! A special thank you to Larry Pollack for your unwavering support of the University’s mission and the dedication you show to our students.

This year, we proudly welcomed 40 incoming legacy students to Florida Tech. The room was overflowing with ! We extend our gratitude to the families, all four college deans, executive staff, Alumni Board Members, as well as President Dr. Nicklow and Dr. Stacy Nicklow, for joining us and making it a memorable event.

Exciting day at Florida Institute of Technology! During the "Skyward Together! An Aviation Celebration," we announced the addition of 8 new Piper 100i planes to our fleet, now nearly 50 strong! We also proudly announced a $1M donation for cutting-edge flight simulators, generously provided by the Emil Buehler Perpetual Trust.

This will support the College of Aeronautics mission to provide students with the highest quality aviation education!

In an ambitious move to support the rapidly expanding space manufacturing sector, Florida Tech and three additional Florida universities have established the Center for Science, Technology and Advanced Research in Space, or C-STARS.

Researchers from Florida Tech, the University of Florida, Florida A&M University and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University will collaborate with industry partners to advance the in-space production of unique medicines, electronics and bioenergy systems.

An agreement finalized this week between Florida Tech and the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex will bring the heavens just a bit closer to Earth for the denizens of Central Florida and beyond.

Florida Tech President John Nicklow and KSCVC Chief Operating Officer Therrin Protze signed an agreement July 15 flanked by their respective mascots, Pete the Panther and SpacePerson.

Through this partnership, led by the university’s Ortega Observatory, organizers plan to create new and expand existing educational opportunities on space sciences for researchers, students and the general public.

The College of Aeronautics at Florida Institute of Technology is pleased to announce that two-time graduate Sean McGeough ’95 ‘05 MS is coming back to campus as an adjunct faculty member.

A distinguished leader in the aviation industry, McGeough will be teaching “Careers in Aviation with a Focus on Sustainability,” allowing him to leverage his extensive industry experience to help guide the next generation of aviation professionals.

Kimberly D. Williams, who has more than 20 years of experience in finance, higher education and law, has been named Florida Tech’s vice president of administration and finance and chief financial officer.

Williams most recently served as the vice president for business affairs, CFO and treasurer at the University of Findlay in Ohio. She will start at Florida Tech on July 8.
