Combining their Kappa Delta Foundation KiDs grant with proceeds raised at their annual Shamrock event, Kappa Delta Greater Atlanta Day Alumnae Chapter went above and beyond to serve their community. Along with collegians from Kappa Delta at Kennesaw State, Atlanta-area alumnae donated and assembled welcome baskets for 20 youth survivors of human trafficking. The 2024 Orthopaedic Research Internship program just concluded, and 2024 intern Taylor Pikhart (Alpha Iota-California/Los Angeles) described her experience as “life-changing.”

She said, “I learned invaluable information about all things medical as well as developed friendships that will last for life! I completed laboratory research that strengthened my love for science and made me find my love for doing research, which I will take with me to graduate or medical school. This would not have been possible without the Kappa Delta Foundation, and I will forever be grateful to call Kappa Delta my home!”

Members from had the opportunity to attend UIFI, a nationwide fraternity and sorority leadership retreat this summer thanks to a foundation grant. Here's what they had to say:

“Attending UIFI was a transformative experience for us. We were able to step out of our comfort zones to advocate for change within our chapter and the larger community at East Tennessee State University. We learned the importance of curiosity, courage, and confidence in addressing the challenges in Greek Life. It was inspiring to connect with other Kappa Deltas from Centre College and Ripon College, sharing perspectives and ideas on common issues. Meeting so many amazing leaders from across the country has energized each of us, and we are excited to bring these insights and strategies back to our community!”

Emily Cansler (Nu-Oklahoma State) has always known she wants to help people in need. The Muriel Johnstone graduate scholarship has been instrumental in her pursuit of a Physician’s Assistant master’s degree, and she can't wait to one day “pay it forward” and help another sister chasing her academic dreams.

“Since beginning this program, I have realized that I am exactly where I need to be. When I graduate, I hope to become a family physician’s assistant that serves a rural Oklahoma community and specializes in women’s health, something that I have been passionate about for a long time. This scholarship directly helps not only me, but my future patients too.”

Ellie McCauley, Chapter President of Zeta Psi-Valparaiso, shared, “I loved the focus on boundary setting, personal growth and empowerment.
