Teachers are the architects of the future, shaping minds, hearts, and destinies with each lesson taught and each moment shared. At SchoolSeed Foundation, we hold the invaluable contributions of educators in the highest esteem, recognizing their unwavering dedication and profound impact on generations to come. Today marks a special occasion as we proudly sponsored the Teacher of the Year luncheon for every Memphis Shelby County School at the MSCS Teaching and Learning Academy, celebrating the exceptional individuals who have gone above and beyond in their commitment to excellence. Each golden ticket bestowed upon the Teachers of the Year today symbolizes our profound gratitude and admiration for their tireless efforts in fostering knowledge, nurturing potential, and illuminating the path to success for countless students. As we gather to honor these remarkable educators, let us reaffirm our collective commitment to supporting and uplifting those who illuminate the way forward with passion, perseverance, and boundless inspiration.
Always humbled to get an email like this. Read below:
Dear SchoolSeed Foundation,
This year you all planted a seed in the ICY Arts garden- allowing us to grow.
In thinking about workforce development/training for youth, we expanded our services to include job training in media, communications, and public service. Highschool and recent College graduates from the University of Memphis assisted in the creation of a film that Elementary Students in grades 3-5 created to speak out against the senseless violence that runs rampant in our city every day.
If you are pleased with the students' end product, please help us share this work on your social media outlets.

Someone once asked us a few years ago, what does SchoolSeed Foundation do? I answered that we are an INDEPENDENT education foundation. Our 501 c 3 is not the program, but instead, we wrap our arms around programs that support schools and the community where teachers and students live. One example of our work can be seen in this video. Young people who have had a brush with the law are given a second chance to change the trajectory of their lives. This is what restorative justice looks like through the work of Project Stand. We have nearly hundreds of different examples that we can point to as an education foundation. SchoolSeed Foundation is in position to be that bridge between donors and projects in schools and outside of schools that impact the community. Education extends well beyond the classroom. Here's to 15 more years of doing exactly what we were established to do.

Thanks for sharing these photos from Thursday’s Seedling Soiree Dr. Karen Felice Ball and Dr. Angela Hargrave!
Transformational opportunities for young people in Memphis are critical, and the SchoolSeed Foundation is committed to providing them. By opening the door to public school students to participate in a sport typically labeled "a billionaire's sport," we're giving them the chance to dream big and aim high. We're proud to say that after two years, our BridgeUp Giddy Up program is flourishing under our umbrella and is benefiting middle and high school students in the Memphis-Shelby County Schools (MSCS).

Here’s what we’ve got in store this week:
WEDNESDAY: with poles and cavaletti, exercises from head coach, Christian’s, book (using classical dressage tracks to ensure systematic and confidence building progress through the equestrian arts).
Using time tested and progressive training ensures that every rider gets the foundational building blocks for a successful experience in the saddle— and at every level— from first contact with horses as a hobby to top level competition with in horses in sport.
Great night, great people and the networking was top notch. Here's to another 15 years of supporting the community! SchoolSeed Foundation's 15 year anniversary celebration is in the books as we move forward to another 15 years of impact.
As you enjoy your weekend and the warmth of your home, always remember there are so many in our community who are struggling with stable housing. SchoolSeed Foundation has witnessed this up close and personal. As we move boldly into the next 15 years of work we are reminded of those we have crossed paths with and how one ounce of generosity can change someone's life in an instant. Will you partner with us to impact many more lives like the person in this video? Support SchoolSeed Foundation.

From our President and CEO Vincent J. McCaskill:
I love to celebrate the success of others. I walked into my office and had this on my desk from Literacy Mid-South. And I am bursting with joy because of the dude who leads as that organization’s CEO. Sam O'Bryant III… you know I am proud of you. But don’t get it twisted… as far as I am concerned you are still a part of the SchoolSeed Foundation family. Keep soaring my friend. You are a honorable man whom I proudly proclaim as a true friend! For those of you looking for an organization to give to before year end, I highly recommend Literacy Mid-South. Go to literacymidsouth.org to make your contribution.
