During the school year, STREETS opens its doors to middle and high school students after school and offers them a safe and engaging space to build authentic relationships with peers their age, staff, and volunteers from the community. During Open-Rec, students can receive homework help, participate in sports, or join a Bible study!

STREETS’ elementary literacy program is actively working to change this statistic💪 Our STREETS Smart students work 1-to-1 with tutors 3x per week, during the school year, to review and strengthen reading comprehension skills and vocabulary📚

STREETS’ Pathways mentoring program is looking for dedicated volunteers interested in investing in the next generation💪

Mentors are paired with a high school or middle school student in order to engage them in authentic relationship and equip them with skills and resources needed to be successful in and out of school.

Mentoring pairs meet for just 1 hour per week during the school year and connect over shared interests! Join us as a mentor or share this opportunity with someone you know!

STREETS’ Camp Lit📚 students got to participate in several FUN activities this summer thanks to community partners around the city!

Recently, they had the opportunity to attend a Red Birds game thanks to our friends at Literacy Mid-South and International Paper! Our students got to walk on the field before the game and received a free baseball cap!
