Happy Father's Day from the University of Memphis Alumni Association!
Join us in cheering on friend of the University Gabrielle Rose tomorrow morning for her Olympic qualifier! ๐ซ๐
Rose and her family opened the state-of-the-art Mike Rose Aquatics Center at the University of Memphis last year. The center was named for Rose's late father, a prominent Memphis philanthropist who passed away in 2017.
Tune in to Peacock at 11 AM this Sunday to show your Tiger pride!
This week we took a stroll down memory lane and went back through some of our old digitized yearbooks.
We found this gem in the 1994 Desoto yearbook. In this story, a talented alumni on the yearbook team, Heather Bruce, covered the last class with the Memphis State University name on their diploma, why the name change happened, and the Universityโs strategic goals for changing the name.

And they all live in the University of Memphis Digital Commons website, free to download.

The Ayers wanted to celebrate all students and show them that they donโt need to leave the state to get a quality education.
