Gun violence continues to take a devastating toll on our community. Join Moms Demand Action Thursday, Dec. 14, from 5-6 pm to Light Up the Night for Peace. They will remember the lives taken by gun violence this year and offer support to those they left behind. The program will feature Rev. Sam Teitel of The Church of the River, Dr. Rosalyn Nichols of Freedom's Chapel Christian Church, and Rev. Earle J. Fisher of Abyssinian Baptist Church. Parking and security provided. Shelby County Sheriff Floyd Bonner, Jr. is pleased to announce the start of the Shelby County Sheriffâs Officeâs OPERATION JINGLE BELLS, beginning Friday, November 24, and running through Sunday, December 31. This will be a five-week detail designed to increase law enforcement visibility in shopping areas throughout the Christmas holidays.
