Half Shell sold as longtime Memphis restaurateur retires With the sale of The Half Shell, Danny Sumrall looks back at the restaurant and his more than 40 years as a part of the restaurant community, having opened or purchased several of Memphis’ popular dining spots.

Carnival Memphis' Children's Charity Initiative hits $5M in fundraising Carnival Memphis has awarded $525,000 donation to be dispersed among three organizations working to improve the quality of life for local children.

We are thrilled to announce that we broke our own fundraising record, and we are donating $525,000, with matching funds, to be shared with Binghampton Christian Academy, Girls Inc. of Memphis, and Church Health! 🎉

This incredible donation marks a milestone of over $5 million with matching funds donated to Memphis-area children's charities since the inception of our Children’s Charity Initiative in 1999.

A big thank you to our sponsors, Grand Krewes, members, and everyone who helped make this a record setting year! Together, we’re making an incredible difference in the lives of children across the Mid-South!

From the joyful faces at Binghampton Christian Academy to the energetic games and face painting at Knowledge Quest, the fun was non-stop!

Our princesses showed incredible spirit participating in service projects across our city, making a positive impact in every community they touched.

15 Days Until Carnival Week!

Get to know your 2024 Carnival Queen, Mary Franklin Williams!

She is a junior at University of Tennessee, Knoxville majoring in Child and Family Studies community outreach with a minor in Psychology. She plans to get her Master's degree in mental health counseling after graduation.

Queen Mary Franklin is a member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority where she has volunteered and raised funds for their philanthropy, the Ronald McDonald House.

While at Hutchison School, Queen Mary Franklin was a member of The Crest Society, Wilson Society, and Spanish Club. She also served on student council her senior year!

Queen Mary Franklin was the Queen's Princess during the 2022 celebration of Carnival Memphis. She also served in the inaugural Junior Court in 2016 and was a Grand Krewe of Osiris Page.
