Summer is officially in full swing as we finish off Intern training! This summer all of our school sites will have high school interns helping run classrooms and activities.

Students at our Taft site had a blast during Water Day by squirting with water their favorite instructors and dunking each other in a dunk tank!

This past weekend our East Palo Alto Clubhouse hosted an AAPI graduation ceremony for our graduating seniors.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month. At BGCP, we recognize the important role mental health plays in the success of our students and we are committed to providing our students with access to mental health services. Our Director of Mental Health, Daniela Velasquez, has built out a team of Mental Health Professionals that provide services to students form East Palo Alto to Daly City.

On Saturday the class of 2024 announced their next steps after graduation. We are so excited for our students to embark on the next steps of their journeys.

On Thursday evening, we held our annual Shark Tank fundraiser where four Sharks and the audience listened to staff make pitches on our K-5 Academics and the Barry Carr Sports League. Generous investments from the evening will bring transformative academic and athletic resources to BGCP students across San Mateo County.

Our Summer High School Internship application is now open! Join us in supporting BGCP’s largest K-8 summer program. We have full-day and half-day opportunities available in East Palo Alto, Menlo Park, Redwood City, San Mateo, Daly City, and South San Francisco from early June through mid-July.

Our Youth of the Year were recognized last night at the Redwood City City Council for their outstanding work in the community. Thank you Mayor Gee for making this possible!

We are celebrating Black History Month with Senator Becker, Council woman Lisa Gauthier at The Domini Hoskins Black History Museum in Redwood City. Senator Becker donated $2 Million to ensure the museum remain accessible to our community and a few of our students witnessed Black History in the making!
