Summer is officially in full swing as we finish off Intern training! This summer all of our school sites will have high school interns helping run classrooms and activities.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month. At BGCP, we recognize the important role mental health plays in the success of our students and we are committed to providing our students with access to mental health services. Our Director of Mental Health, Daniela Velasquez, has built out a team of Mental Health Professionals that provide services to students form East Palo Alto to Daly City.

On Thursday evening, we held our annual Shark Tank fundraiser where four Sharks and the audience listened to staff make pitches on our K-5 Academics and the Barry Carr Sports League. Generous investments from the evening will bring transformative academic and athletic resources to BGCP students across San Mateo County.

We are celebrating Black History Month with Senator Becker, Council woman Lisa Gauthier at The Domini Hoskins Black History Museum in Redwood City. Senator Becker donated $2 Million to ensure the museum remain accessible to our community and a few of our students witnessed Black History in the making!
