Banana Smoothie

2 cups low-fat milk or (soy or almond milk)
2 medium frozen bananas
1/4 cup honey
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Combine all ingredients in a blender until smooth.

Where to even begin with why I love group fitness.. I have been going to group fitness classes for years. since becoming a mom it has been such a necessity for me to feel connected and uplifted! Group fitness is a community that I cherish so much. I love when it brings all of us together to work hard and to achieve our goals! I'm so glad I took the plunge to become an instructor. It's so fulfilling. I love helping others see their potential and helping uplift others and make their day better! Life can be hard and days can be long but group fitness is one of my biggest joys and where I have made some of my closest friends. We are all in this together!

Did you get your workouts in this week?!

Don’t let one week of falling off track get you discouraged. How can you make your workout a routine you want to stick to??

Here are five tips we think will help:

1. Find something that sparks your interest and gets you EXCITED. Be willing to step out of your comfort zone and try something that is not the norm for you. Personal training? Group Fitness? Elite classes? Working solo on your own workout with your music blasting in your AirPods? Try them all!

2. Change your perspective. Tell yourself you ARE an athlete. Would an athlete be sitting on the couch binging Netflix? NO! Well maybe. 😂 but they’d get their workout done first.

3. Pick a time of day that you know will work for you and put it in your calendar! Don’t schedule dentist appointments or volunteer in your kids classroom at that time of day. That’s gym time only.

4. Set a realistic goal for yourself. It doesn’t have to be big! It just needs to be realistic and reachable. Once you reach the goal, make a new goal!

5. Find a gym buddy 👯‍♀️You need a girlfriend that is willing to support you for all of these tips! It’s so much more fun to be at the gym who has your same goals in mind. Shapes is the PERFECT place to find a gal pal. It’s the most welcoming and happy place!

💪Meet The Trainer💪 Heide Lindgren is a NASM certified personal trainer. She has an amazing knack of becoming your best buddy upon meeting her too! Her knowledge of health and fitness is vast, and she loves helping people change their lives. If you're ready to make some amazing changes, come talk to us about personal training! 💪What made you become a personal trainer?

I became a personal trainer to get over my own anxieties in the gym. While information does not equal transformation, I do believe that knowledge is power and learning how the body works helped me build up my own confidence in exercise.

💪What are your 3 favorite exercises?

My top three favorite exercises are: BOSU burpees, banded barbell back squats, and deadball slams

💪What is your definition of healthy?

My definition of healthy is the alignment of confidence and joy in movement, a nutrient-dense diet, and a mind that is at peace.

💪What is a fun fact about you?

A random fun fact about me: I lived in my car for six weeks last summer traveling the Northwest with my adventure buddy - my chihuahua- Mae West. She's a freaking champion hiker and paddleboarder!
