Finding your purpose.

Over 40% of adults in America claim they lack a clear purpose.

Sometimes when people hear “finding your purpose” it’s thought of on grandiose scales. Curing disease. Traveling throughout the world providing humanitarian aide. Launching massive companies.

But finding your purpose doesn’t always need to be so lofty.

Purpose simply is something that directs your actions and behaviors. It’s showing intention to achieve a long-term goal, and that goal is both personally meaningful and somehow makes a positive impact on others.

Your sense of purpose will lessen feelings of depression and anxiety, hopelessness and keep you away from that “empty” feeling.

At WORK, we don’t just believe in helping people become fit, we truly want to help our people with COMMUNITY, to get them plugged into a tribe of others that can support, encourage, and most importantly, give you a sense a purpose and meaning in life.

Meet John Di Lulo

John was born in Seattle and moved to Idaho when he was two.

He grew up playing competitive soccer and accomplished his ultimate goal to play college soccer. He played 4 years at Northwest Nazarene University.

He is married to his high school sweetheart, Kylie, and is a father to their two year old son, Enzo. They are expecting baby #2...due in April!

He's completed the 75HARD program and he loves the fitness community, which directly aligns with his passion to help and serve others.

He loves loud music, spending summers and winters in Donnelly and yes, he actually loves burpees.

Give John some love next time you see him and remind him of your name!!

A New Year. A New YOU. An expression heard ad nauseam, with so many people feeling massive pressure to make sweeping changes on January 1st of each year.

And yet…what is normally the result? Come February or maybe even March, most people have settled right back into where they were before. But why??

Sometimes this can happen from simply setting unrealistic goals.

A goal should be motivating and obtainable, not crushing and unbearable.

But the fitness world is riddled with discarded diets and unused gym memberships, disappointment and depression over unfulfilled goals.

So here’s just a friendly reminder: BE REALISTIC.

At the New Year, motivation can be at an all-time high, and yet, motivation will always wane at some point. What must take its place is a HABIT.

So think about ways in which you can build healthy habits for yourself in the new year.

Haven’t been going to the gym at all in the last year? Maybe set a goal for three times a week. And not just random days, schedule out which three they will be each week, and develop the HABIT of making those your gym days. And then, if you get into that routine and want to increase your gym habits, building from 3 to 5 times a week becomes much more obtainable.

Know your diet needs an overhaul? Start simple and build from there. Eliminate desserts at the end of each day. Cut down on daily alcohol consumption. Try not to eat out so often. Once you’ve minimized some of the bad habits surrounding your diet, then you can start adding better food into your body.

Whatever goals you have for 2024, take the time to set measurable and obtainable ones. Be patient. Build HABITS that will stay long after your motivation dies out.

It's our manta.

It's what is at the heart of every WORK Training Session and what makes us different from a "group exercise class"

You don't come in to WORK to take a class.

You walk in the doors at WORK to TRAIN.

And those two things are drastically different.

A class denotes a single activity. Show up one day...gone the next. Free to pop in whenever the mood is right.

And yet TRAINING implies this arc of change. That checking in to the WORK room is part of a habit established towards self improvement.

We train on a regular cadence to bring about change and positive adaptation in the body.

That is also called growth.

But growth cannot exist without a regime that will challenge the body, in both resistance and cardiovascular exercise.

And WORK provides your complete, all-encompassing training program.

Your job? To show up. Give your best effort. And let us TRAIN you to become the best version of yourself.
