Lots to smile about…Happy Thursday from Miami NAF Board Member Harvey. Just finished an amazing board meeting this morning. What made it so uniquely special was the meeting was held at my Alma Mater FIU Chaplin School of Hospitality & Tourism Management. It’s been almost 20 years since I stepped foot in the building after completing my degree. Ahhhhh….it was good to be home!!

Krop Senior High School administration, students and Hospitality Teacher, Kimberly Wilson for inviting Nashara O'Reilly Frazier and myself as guest presenters to the Miami NAF . I am featured today on the front page of The Miami Times newspaper!!!!!!. This journey has been so amazing! Listen to the community, who has encouraged, mentored, prayed, & supported me for the past 30 years. I am so grateful for the opportunity, not only to have received, but now I am in a position to give what they gave to me. 
25 years ago, I was a recipient of a full scholarship to Florida international University to study hospitality management.  I am back after all of these years to reconnect with the organization who awarded me this opportunity and to show gratitude, and make connections with old acquaintances and make new contacts.  Kudos to all who help produce this amazing event.

Behind the scenes: This past Wednesday we filmed a live cooking segment for AARP NEW YORK, produced by IndigoLife Communications, Inc. Chef “Jay” John Harvey Jr and I (Chef Quì) had an amazing time. We had a full house as we made a Cake, a Pie and a Pudding with a healthy twist. We like to be mindful of the amount of sugar, salt and fat used in recipes. thanks to everyone involved in making this a success!! Muuuuuah!!!

Serves 4
1 can Bacardi strawberry daiquiri
1 mango fruit pulp or one whole mango
4 oz. white Hennessy or any spirit of choice
(1/2 cup Ice -optional)
Blend all the ingredients together and enjoy!
