Introducing Gisela and Jessica from . Two amazing young occupational therapists who are bringing back the old ways to provide children with the chance to get back to the basics of play without devices through nature-based groups.
We recently interviewed Gisela and were pleasantly surprised at the approach they use with kids. The interview will be uploaded soon on our page. You can book them through our website. Follow their page for more information.

The Halloween Activities Continue! π»
This time we made some ghosts! Some spookier than others βΊοΈ
How we did it:
β¨ Cut a banana in half
β¨ Put a skewer through
β¨ Dip in yogurt
β¨ Add accessories (chocolate chip eyes, gummy belt and mouth)
β¨ Put in freezer for 30 minutes or until solid
β¨ Enjoy the spooky delicacy!
This works on so many skills such as: cutting food, sensory processing, meal prep, ideation and creativity, fine motor skills, problem solving, following directions, and executive functioning
Halloween is just 5 sleeps away π ππ

Spray bottle are a quick fun way to keep your kiddos entertain and work on fine motor skills. Itβs a win, win situation π
Using a spray bottle puts little hands to work by helping strengthen the muscles that are in their hands (intrinsic muscles). Pressing and releasing a spray bottle is also much like the manipulation of scissors.
Itβs such a simple household device that can promote many skills and provide endless fun β€οΈ

Family Day Fun! π₯³
We made some binoculars and searched for animals in the leaves/flowers!
The kids were so excited to leave with their very own laid of binoculars, Gisela was too π€£
Hope everyone had a fantastic fun day Sunday β¨
We do things a little different at Inside Out β¨
We took our kiddo grocery shopping to meal prep and cook his own lunch! He was prompted to:
1) Search for a recipe
2) Write down the recipe and ingredients
3) Shop for ingredients (while staying within set budget)
4) Pay for ingredients
5) Follow the recipe and cook his meal
This works on so many skills:
β¨ADLS
β¨Promoting independence
β¨Executive functioning
β¨Fine motor skills
β¨Impulse control
β¨Safety awareness
β¨Meal preparation
β¨Problem solving
β¨Money management
β¨if I missed anything let me know in the comments! π
Have you tried this with your kiddos?
Family day is coming up August 21! It is a free event held at the Institute of Contemporary Art for kids of all ages and abilities!

β¨Signs of good rapport with your kiddoβ¨
They run up to your car to get one last goodbye hug π₯Ή
It is so important to have built rapport with your clients before asking them to do something challenging or non preferred.
Building those connections and relationships makes it easier to do the hard/non preferred tasks, without needing a token system.
What are some signs you look for that youβve built good rapport?

Pearls
Ziploc Bag
Theyβre so easy to make and the kids love them! You can even have them help you make it βΊοΈ
Stay tuned for the reel with the step by step instructions!

Hi insideouters we hope you are all having a great weekend! As you all know we are child-led pediatric therapists. That believe children learn through play.
We have great news we have a location now π. Our new office is located in Palmetto Bay right next to the Starbucks that looks like a gas station π. Our hours are Monday through Friday from 8-6.
WE HAVE NO WAITING LIST. We have the time and space for your little cuties.

It got a little messy, but thatβs alright π
Our kiddos took home a little potted leaf and some flower seeds π
Some of them had a better idea for the pots and used them as little bathtubs for our animals πβΊοΈ
Happy Sunday!
We have a tropical storm ahead in SFL π§
Just like we love sunny days, we also love Rainy days. As long as itβs safe outside dancing, and singing in the rain is the reset needed.πβοΈ
While most of us are cooped up inside, watching Netflix, if youβre up for the challenge take a minute to go outside and enjoy the rain π§ maybe even ditch the umbrella and get a little wet.
What do you love about rain?

Happy Motherβs Day to all the Inside Out Momβs. β€οΈ I may be biased but we work with the best moms and grand moms in the world πΈ
A special shout-out to the Inside Out Moms who have supported us along the way. Because of these women we wouldnβt be here right now.
The sweetest of smiles to cheer up your Monday blues π
For Earth Day we planned on making wind chimes with toilet paper rolls, but all these other great ideas came to life:
A telescope
An octopus
A jellyfish
A purse
A roll with a smile
All these ideas came out fantastic and worked on fine motor skills at the same time!
Sometimes following their lead ends up better than the original plan π
