The day we became parents 🫶🏼
Sage Olivia Orozco, born May 25 at 3:49 am at our home, just as we planned.

Her birth story was pretty close to what I pictured it would be but also so much more.
It started on Thursday in the early morning around 3 am. I woke up to what I thought was a Braxton hick contraction and used the restroom. I went back to bed but I couldn’t sleep because the false contractions were becoming stronger & uncomfortable. At this point, I’m not thinking it’s labor which is funny because I still can’t sleep through these contractions which now looking back, tells me they were the real thing. Now it’s around 8 am and I still haven’t slept. I started tracking them at some point during the morning and they were about 7/8 minutes apart & still something I needed to focus but not necessarily painful. I eat breakfast, update my doula & midwife about what’s going on & decide to call the chiropractor for possibly my last visit pregnant. Im told im in early labor which makes me excited that the day is finally here. I know that in early labor, you should try to ignore the contractions for as long as you can but also rest. So after the Chiro I head to the barn to visit my horses for a couple hours then I head back home to start resting for what’s to come.

Fast forward to Thursday evening, the contractions are starting to ramp up. I’m able to eat some dinner. Contractions are being timed but they aren’t down to the 5–1-1 which is necessary for my birth team to come over. I try to get some sleep around 9-10 pm but it just doesn’t happen. I end up laboring around my house the entire evening into early morning. The contractions are still uneven, some are 5 minutes apart and some are 12 minutes apart. I am exhausted from no sleep. Fast forward to 7:30 am- my midwife checks in and I update her about my sleepless night. We agree that she’s needed to come check my progress with dilation. In my head, I fear I’m 0 dilated and what I went through all night was prodromal labor meaning no progress made. By 9 am she arrives & to much excitement I am almost 6 cm dilated and almost 100% effaced. I’m excited! — continue in comments

I choose to not let negativity control me or allow fear to step in because I know that is not from me or God but the devil.
This pregnancy has been a true test of my confidence & faith. People knowingly or have unknowingly tried to instill fear into my mind these last 9 months but I remain strong. Knowing that God did not make a mistake when it comes to my divine power to create and birth my child.
I was MADE TO DO THIS. Here’s to a couple more weeks pregnant (give or take) I AM SO EXCITED!

Hello 9 months 👋🏻
Wow has time flown by. Feeling very grateful for this journey so far. The fact that my body can do what it does without me even guiding it is absolutely amazing 🙌🏼 God is quite the artist.

As the countdown is officially on, I’ll be spending my days finishing up with clients, enjoying this warmer spring weather by being outside in the garden and with my horses. Since we’re having a home birth, there isn’t much prep besides mental and to get supplies our midwives suggest. The idea that our home will be filled with everything baby in the next few ish weeks is very crazy but exciting 😍 So ready for this!

I’ll tell you one thing, this baby will always know the sound of true laughter 💛realtor.nes is going to be the best dad 🏆

This gives me some direction & a clear idea of how to proceed. Powder Brows is considered permanent makeup. There is no washing off the brow after it’s been tattooed. That’s why I make sure to set expectations before a client even comes into their appointment by having them read my FAQ page on my website. Lots of good information on what to expect, the pre care and the aftercare. Their should be no surprises on the day of 👏🏻
