Soroptimist International of Central Oahu
SICO started in 1986 and has continued helping women and girls in our community be the best that they can be.
Mahalo nui loa to our former President Jackie Pactol 💫for her leadership and dedication to SICO, not only during these past two years as president, but throughout her over 40 years of remarkable service with Soroptimist International of Central Oʻahu🔥❤️
Your passion and commitment have left an indelible mark on our community. As we welcome our new President Janice Ishiara and board of directors, we will strive to continue the great work you’ve championed. Mahalo, Jackie! 🌺
Mahalo nui loa to our amazing SICO members (Left to right in picture: Darlene, Laurie, Marilyn, President Janice, and Deb) that helped deliver our donation of $630 to Kipapa Elementary 📚💛
This donation will go towards supplying students in need at Kipapa Elementary with school supplies for the upcoming school year ✏️✂️📌📓Accepting the check is PTA President, Karina (and family).
SI/CO has supported school supply drives for Central Oʻahu school for a number of years in the past. We plan on continuing our support through three Central Oahu Title 1 elementary schools: Kipapa Elementary, Kaala Elementary and Kahuku Elementary. This year each of these schools will receive a $630 donation from our organization!
Recently, some members of Soroptimist International of Central Oʻahu enjoyed a delightful “Tea Party” fundraiser for Halau Pukaʻikapuaokalani, which featured a vintage fashion show👗, hula dancers 🎶, and ono food ☕️ demonstrating their dedication to uplifting the community and supporting diverse causes. 💕
Congratulations to Lorraine Fukumae on winning 3rd place in the Honolulu Board of REALTORS® “Good Neighbor” Award 🎉👏🏽
The “Good Neighbor” Award celebrates local REALTORS® for their volunteer community service.
As a third place winner, Lorraine has won $500 for the Soroptomist International of Central Oʻahu!
Fall Harvest Membership Brunch
"Many thanks to the Committee and to all the members who participated in the brunch. This was another awesome get together for SI/CO! The program included a moment of silence in observance of the passing of Terie Sheram, a well scripted easily understood presentation about Soroptimist by President-elect Janice, meeting Tiah Davidson, 2020 LYD awardee, sincere closing thoughts by Past President Elise and lots of joyful singing led by Rene Mansho. Of course, SI/CO always has the bestest onolicious foods." ` Jackie Pactol
This weekend we showcased our "Designer Corner" filled with gently used clothing, shoes, and purses by brands such as Ann Taylor, Kate Spade, Fighting Eel, Tori Burch, Michael Kors, Nike... just to name a few.
100% of funds raised goes towards educating and empowering women. We are so grateful for all the donations and shoppers. See you again next month!
Always a great time at our monthly business meetings with food, fun and very special guests (and yes, we talk some business too).
Come check out our treasures.
We have clothes, purses, shoes, games, kitchenware, decorations, plants, and more!!
What a fun team activity we had this weekend! We had a great time getting our hands in dirt and moss to create beautiful Kokedama moss ball plants.
A heartfelt MAHALO to our Soroptimist community for the outpouring of support during this difficult time. We look forward to mobilizing our collective efforts in service to our Maui Ohana.
Should a person, club or organization wish to contribute funds directly through our club, please send a check to our P.O. Box (including your 501(c)(3) status). We will provide updates on the programs the donations are used towards.
In anticipation of Maui's long term recovery needs, our club continues to partner with organizations that align with our mission. We are also working to assemble a list of local, women owned businesses to patronage online. Stay tuned!
Come and check out the treasures at our booth on Saturday, Sep. 2nd at Mililani High School! See you there!!
Thank you all for sending love and offers to support. Mahalo for your patience as we make a plan to effectively mobilize our Soroptimist community.
It was a delight to have Ella Matsui, our VRA recipient, speak at our last business meeting. It was inspiring to hear of her accomplishments at such a young age and exciting to know that she is paving the way for so much more with her leadership. Thank you, Ella!
Thank you all for coming out to our garage sale at the Mililani High School to support our fundraising efforts.
SI Convention The Soroptimist International Convention was held in Dublin, Ireland last weekend and I was fortunate to have been in attendance with over 1700 Soroptimist members from around the world. In support of the Domestic Violence Shelter, members purchase and deliver school supplies for the children at the shelter and bedding for the shelter! Great job, SI/CO - and THANKS to all who support us with donations, garage sale purchases, etc.
"Baskets of Hope" service project which supports the Domestic Violence Shelter is off to a great start! SI/CO members made baskets of personal items for women entering the shelter and larger "exit baskets" for women/families when they leave the shelter. THANKS to Lorraine Fukumae for spearheading the project, Elise Carmody for leading the shopping teams and all of our great SI/CO volunteers who devote their time to improve the lives of women and girls!
