A message from outgoing HAWAII USBC President Darrell Pojas:

As of July 31, 2024, my time as the President of the Hawaii USBC has come to an end. I am extremely proud of the work that our association has done under my leadership. There is no question that our association is in a better position in the history of Hawaii USBC (formerly known as Hawaii State USBC, Oahu USBC, Maui USBC, West Hawaii USBC, Hilo USBC and Kauai USBC). Our association would not be in the position it is currently without the work done by every board member that has served while I was President. And my success as President could not have happened without the extremely hard work done by Dennis August, our Association Manager, and Keoho Asato, our Office Administrator, for the duration of my Presidency.

To everyone who has participated in a league or the many Association Tournaments over the last decade, Thank You. To all the incredible sponsors who have helped provide an incredible amount of prize money for our tournaments, Thank You. To those members of the Hawaii USBC Hall of Fame who allowed me to induct them, Thank You.

Special thanks to USBC (Mark Larsen, David Prange, and Jarrod Gallegos), PBA (Gary Mage and Josh Blanchard), Hawaii All Military (Millie Gomes), Hawaii Bowling Supply (Mike Signaigo), 5Tz Services and Pro Shop (John and Gail Saguibo).

I would like to introduce to you our new President of the Hawaii USBC, Christopher Honda. I have confidence that he will continue to provide you the leadership and support to our local bowling members. Please give him the support that you have given to me. Our association is also in fantastic hands with the board that is assembled, and I am very excited for some new leadership to make this already amazing association even better.

It has been an honor dedicating my life, promoting, supporting the sport of bowling for the past 16 years in HAWAII NEI.

As I venture into retirement, I will deeply miss everyone that I crossed paths with the bowling community in Hawaii.

Current Tournament Shift Status: 8am is Full, 1pm has a few open spots

REMINDER:
Check-in 1 hour prior to start time

Dress Requirements:
All participants (male and female) must wear a shirt with a polo type collar, mock neck collar or a crew neck. Bowling apparel shirts will be allowed as long as they meet the above requirements. All clothing (Male and Female) must be neat and clean with no holes or tears. No profanity or vulgarity will be allowed on any clothing.

Men may wear slacks, casual trousers, or denim jeans. All pants must present a neat appearance. No shorts, gym/athletic pants, balloon pants or sweatpants of any kind are allowed.
Women may wear skirts, slacks, casual trousers, skorts, culottes, capris, or denim jeans. Capris will be allowed provided the length is below the knees and at least mid-calf or longer. Yoga pants will not be allowed. Leggings will only be allowed if garment is underneath a skirt. Skirts/skorts must be at least fingertip length when standing with arms down at sides and the garment’s outer material must be at least half the distance of the upper leg. Shorts will be allowed as long they are at least fingertip length when standing with arms down at sides and presentable with no holes or cut offs.
Headwear, for medical reasons only, may be worn with the approval of Tournament Management. The use of any artificial device to listen to music or a broadcast is prohibited during competition.

Proposed Prize List (with 96 entries):
1st place $3000.00
2nd place $1500.00
3rd & 4th place $750.00
5th thru 8th place $300.00
9th thru 16th place $180.00
17th thru 32nd place $150.00

Open to all Hawaii USBC members, including Youth members. Youth participants must have both youth and parent/guardian sign the consent form before bowling. Youth winners will have winnings deposited into individual SMART accounts. SMART Acct #10887

Tournament Format:
Qualifying Rounds - Saturday, July 27, 8am & 1pm: Two qualifying squads (4 games each) Top 24 bowlers from each squad make it to the semifinals

Semifinals - Sunday, July 28, 8 am: 48 Qualifyers (4 games)
Top 32 bowlers (8 games total pins) to be ranked 1 to 32

Finals - Sunday, July 28, after semifinals: 32 Finalists bowl single elimination bracket format until an Undefeated Masters Champion remains
