Did you know that Hall ministers live in each of Marquette’s residence halls to provide pastoral care and presence to all staff and residents of the building? In collaboration with the hall staff, the hall ministeouts charged with helping form a residential community that expresses the university’s Catholic, Jesuit character, support residents’ spiritual health, and accompany students.
See who your hall minister is and learn a little about them by clicking the link in our bio!
This past weekend a group of first year and transfer students gathered to learn, reflect and engage on Marquette’s four pillars: Leadership, Faith, Excellence and Service.
Students got to participate in prayer, small group sharing, and team building activities, all the while having fun and getting to know each other and themselves.
Our Campus Ministry Open House gave incoming students an opportunity to get to learn about what we offer.

Progress on the Chapel of the Holy Family is coming along great! We can’t for you all to see it this fall!
“I struggled navigating college life, which caused me to get stuck on God’s ‘why’ behind these situations. I’m sure you all have had times when you had to scramble to change your semester schedule, push yourself to be more involved in the community, and overcome bouts of social anxiety. Training myself to remember challenges like these and the blessings that came out of them sustained me until I learned God’s ‘why.’
The professor I gained from a schedule change encouraged me to become a writing center tutor, a peer mentor from a student organization I hesitantly joined recommended me to work on an art and engineering exhibition, and a leader I met on my first retreat pushed me to be more active in the Campus Ministry community, where I found my closest friends.
Time and time again, the pieces of our lives can fall differently than how we assume they will. By seeing opportunities in all that we face, we can understand how the changes in our initial plans have led to new avenues of growth.”

Blessed to celebrate to Baccalaureate Mass with all of our graduates today! We’re proud of the people you’ve become and your growth as men and women for and with others.
Almost done with preparations! All graduating students, their families, friends, and other guests, along with all faculty and staff of Marquette University are invited to join the annual Baccalaureate Mass celebration!
The Baccalaureate Mass will be celebrated tomorrow, Saturday, May 11, 2024, at 9:00 a.m. in The Al McGuire Center (770 N. 12th Street). Graduating students are invited to attend in their academic regalia and to participate in the annual procession of graduates at the start of mass; students wishing to do so must arrive by 8:40 a.m.
The Baccalaureate Mass in an annual tradition whereby we give thanks to God for all the blessings of our time in studies here at Marquette and for the many mentors, teachers, friends, colleagues, and companions who have helped to form us on this journey. We invoke God’s blessings upon them and ourselves as we move into the next stage of our lives.
Fr. Gregory O’Meara SJ, Rector of the Jesuit Community and Associate Professor of Law will preside; Fr. Ryan Duns SJ, Associate Professor of Theology will preach. No tickets or reservations are necessary to participate.
We are excited for this summer’s renovations in the Chapel of the Holy Family. Grateful for decades of prayer in this space; hopeful for decades of blessings to come. The Chapel of the Holy Family is scheduled to reopen this Fall.
Graduating senior Claire Schomogyi has always loved helping people. But at Marquette, she learned what it means to truly serve.

This Saturday, members of the Marquette community gathered outside the St. Joan of Arc Chapel for a Marian Crowning. We ask our Blessed Mother Mary to watch over us as we enter the month of May.
Foundations in Faith held its Pre-Exam blessing for MU students. The event was the grand finale of a series of events held to celebrate Black spirituality and fellowship. Students were blessed in prayer together, enjoyed great food and shared loud and hardy laughs. The event was catered by Immy’s African Cuisine. Pre-exam prayer cards are available in Campus Ministry (AMU 236). FINISH STRONG MU! 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Thank you to everyone who came out and supported the Liturgical Choir at their spring concert this past Friday!
Last Saturday, we celebrated all of our fantastic student liturgical ministers! These students enrich our campus liturgies by serving as readers, altar servers, sacristans, musicians and choir members, ushers, and Eucharistic Ministers (or sometimes all of the above!). We are grateful and blessed to have them with us at mass througout the semester!
From Pere Marquette Park to Bradford Beach to the North Point Lighthouse, our Milwalking retreatants walked 8 miles while building community, learning about Milwaukee’s history, and reflecting on the highs and lows of their faith journey.

Last Friday, the Division of Student Affairs recognized student leadership through the Emerging Leader and the Contemplative in Action Awards. These awards acknowledge those students who demonstrate initiative, motivation, and growth, as they dedicate their time for the service of others.
A number of student leaders from Campus Ministry were able to be recognized due to their contributions and leadership. We thank them for their continuous work, service, and faith.
Due to the weather, the livestream of the 10 p.m. Mass (scheduled for today) will no longer be happening. We apologize for the inconvenience.
“He is risen! Alleluia! Alleluia!”
A happy and blessed Easter to everyone!
Happy Holi! May the colors of Holi fill your life with abundance, prosperity, happiness, and love!
Holy Week has began today with the celebration of Palm Sunday.
Rev. Ryan Duns, S.J., wrote this week in Marquette Today, “Over the next week, the Christian community will accompany Jesus from his triumphant entrance into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday to the Last Supper on Holy Thursday and, finally, to Good Friday and his death on the cross.
“These days reveal the dark grace of discipleship: One cannot be a companion of Jesus while remaining an enemy of the cross. Nevertheless, Christian faith is rooted in the good news of the resurrection: on Easter Sunday, God raises Jesus from the dead. The Risen Christ continues to work in our world, calling us to new and abundant life.”
We wish the Marquette and the global Jewish community a happy Purim!

Over Spring Break, Marquette students visited Brownsville, Texas in order to learn about and be a witness to the Border Experience many migrants, refugees and asylum-seekers face. Students were able to meet with a number of nonprofit and Catholic organizations that aid the refugee and welcome the stranger.
Consider taking part in next year’s trip during Spring Break.
