It was toasty out βοΈ but 216 golfers still came to Ironwood Golf Course yesterday to show their support for Christ-centered education at WLHS. βοΈπ
There were prizes, raffles, lunch and dinner catered by Bunzel's Meats and Catering, mini-games, and fun memories to be had by all. It was great to see so many alumni, parents, friends, and sponsors at the outing again this year! π

β‘οΈ A group of Wisco students ran a Vacation Bible School for Christ Lutheran Church in Alaska this week! Students led games and songs, and they shared Bible stories every day. WLHS theology teacher Ben Carlovsky led opening and closing devotions.
After camp in the morning, the group has gone hiking to glaciers, whale watching, and soaking in God's breathtaking creation. ππ

π 2024 Wisco graduate Mason Marrari recapped the Bridge & Build event at Lambeau Field and published his work on Wispolitics.com!

At Wisco, Mason participated in Math Track, Wisco Witnesses in the World, Student Council, and Viking Christian Leader Academy. He served as the Editor-in-Chief of the Pilot student newspaper, the co-leader of the Film Club, and the Secretary of the WLHS National Honor Society. He was named Viking Christian Leader of the month in February, and he was also in the academic top ten of his class.

π Girls Basketball Camp took place last week. Campers learned individual offensive skills with an emphasis on shooting, dribbling, and passing skills. They made new friends, played games, and had a great time! π

Boys and girls learned the foundational skills required of Viking wrestlers. New skills and techniques were introduced each day. They also discussed proper conditioning, nutrition, and sport-related exercise for a holistic learning experience.

This past weekend, our amazing athletes competed in the WIAA State Meet in LaCrosse, WI, finishing 4th out of 128 Division 1 teams! This is the highest place ever achieved by any WLHS girls team at the Division 1 level. π

Sarah's journey with a rare heart disease has been challenging, but her resilience and positivity inspire many. πͺ

β‘ Eddie Rynders ('24) was named the NATIONAL Player of the Week (May 6-12) by Prep Baseball, and ESPN recently named him one of the top 150 high school and college MLB draft prospects!

Track Teams Take Woodland Championship Titles ππ
π Congratulations to the boys and girls track & field teams who won 2024 Woodland Conference and Regional Championships on the Sitz Track at WLHS!
β‘οΈ The teams won in convincing fashion and had many individual champions and sectional qualifiers. Of note is our boys capture of the Conference Triple Crown by winning the Indoor, Relay, and Outdoor Championships for the second year in a row.

β‘οΈ The choirs and bands of Wisco delighted sold-out crowds with pop and Broadway hits this past weekend. Among them were steelpan performances π’ several vocal solos and duets π€ concert and jazz bands πΊ and a mass choir number π¨βπ©βπ¦ with "Blast from the Past" music.

OHFHS Raises Record Amount! π²π₯³
β‘ The Lord has blessed the Our Hands for His Service (OHFHS) mission effort once again this year! Months of student-driven fundraising events π work days π§Ή and offerings π€² brought in by many of our conference grade schools (see below) raised $45,621, which well surpassed the goal of $40,000!
Where is the money going?? π€
β‘ Three quarters of the money will go towards the Friends Network and their mission work in the Philippines π΅π and the other quarter is going towards our WELS Military Services. πΊπΈ

β‘οΈ Varsity Baseball clinched their second straight Woodland West Conference Championship last night with a 3-0 win over New Berlin Eisenhower.

Eddie Rynders ('24) dominated on the mound with a complete game 3 hit shutout, striking out 5. Eddie was just named the National Player of the Week by Prep Baseball. He was also recently named one of the top 150 MLB draft prospects, high school and college combined, by ESPN!
βοΈ Our conference record finished at 10-2 with the overall record now at 16-4.
β‘οΈ We host the LIT Tournament tomorrow, Saturday, May 18 at Wisconsin Lutheran College where we welcome Lakeside Lutheran, Kettle Moraine Lutheran, and Fox Valley Lutheran. Our first game is 9:00 a.m. at WLC vs. Lakeside.
