Congratulations to our new SKY Breathing Meditation Course Graduates! Many smiles and calm minds!

Over Memorial Day weekend, students and instructors in the Adult Education classes came together to celebrate the end of spring semester. They met up at Veterans Park on a beautiful Saturday afternoon to enjoy the Milwaukee Kite Festival. Visit journeyhouse.org for more information about ESL, Citizenship and GED classes in Spanish. Journey House Girls Let’s Build toured the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee’s School of Architecture and Urban Planning. They enjoyed learning about various careers in construction, design, and architecture. The UWM Roberto Hernandez Center also provided a special welcome and greeted them on campus.

A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step, and these incredible GED students from Journey House have leaped bounds! Celebrating their monumental graduation at MATC on May 20, each cap and gown is not just attire but a testament to resilience, determination, and unyielding spirit. Join us in congratulating them!

Journey House equips high school students for success beyond graduation with our College and Career Readiness program. This program offers a multi-faceted approach, guiding students through self-discovery and exploration. Students build essential skills like goal-setting, financial literacy, and communication. They receive personalized support from staff who help them navigate the college application process or explore career options within Journey House's College Careers program. Through workshops, field trips, and mentorship, Journey House empowers students to confidently choose their path, be it college or a fulfilling career.

Empowering young minds for financial independence, Journey House offers a innovative Financial Literacy program for high school students. This program breaks down complex financial concepts into relatable topics, teaching students how to manage money effectively. Through interactive workshops and real-life simulations, students gain valuable skills such as budgeting, saving, understanding credit, and making smart financial decisions. Journey House equips them to navigate the financial world with confidence, preparing them for a secure and successful future.

Six THRIVE Healthcare Interns, Ten Community Partners, and Eight staff/Leaders completed SKY Breathing Meditation over January 8 - 10, 2024.
SKY teaches healthy ways to decrease stress, manage emotions, and increase personal and professional productivity.
