CONGRATULATIONS to MYT alum Raichel West. Raichel traveled to the Apollo in Harlem, NYC to compete in the National Next Narrative Monologue 2024 competition hosted by Kenny Leon's True Colors Theatre Company -- and she won first place!

Big dreams and bigger puppets: Reviving Milwaukee's oldest puppet production company One Milwaukee woman is on a mission to revive the city's oldest puppet production company. Puppetry in Motion hopes to be a common name in Milwaukee's theater scene.

We didn't have a huge audience at the Northwestern Mutual Annual Meeting yesterday, but to paraphrase Shakespeare "How far that little performance threw its beams! So shines a good show in a weary world." 🎭

The Lost Tales Players performed four stories from their repertoire, and that's it for the summer. They'll be back in mid-September for a quick performance back at the Summerfest grounds. Stay tuned for more info on that!

Things are quiet this summer, but we're doing a gig TODAY for the Northwestern Mutual Annual Meeting over on the Summerfest grounds. This is not open to the public, but we're happy to be a part of their yearly party and entertain the families of this local institution. We rehearsed yesterday at Harmonie's Pigsville headquarters.

THE LOST TALES PLAYERS have left the building! Our tour was cut short this week, but we still got to hang out with the students at La Escuela Fratney and Milwaukee Spanish Immersion School. (One of those gimnasios was not air conditioned) We were sweaty and tired, but grateful for a last chance to tell stories together. Stay cool out there this summer! See you soon!

🦋These are just some of the compliments the students heard directly from the audience during the talkback at Ovation Communities. A moving performance and maybe their best yet? We also performed for the students at Lad Lake in their gymnasium during an explosive downpour. One things MYT students learn is how to adapt, how to troubleshoot weird problems on the fly, how to think on their feet. Tours are challenging, but today was super rewarding for everyone.

🚗🚕🚙🏎🚜🛵Well team, our tour starts this week! Tonight the students rehearsed with a stripped-down set, and tomorrow we're off to Lad Lake and then Ovation Communities (Jewish Home and Care Center).

Our final tour day is Friday at Highland Community School.

A belated 💖THANK YOU💖 to Jessie and Rachel, who prepared a special meal for the students on Saturday between shows. Community meals are an important way to grow closer, and I know the students LOVED the chance to eat home-cooked food together. It was raining so we had to eat inside, but a wonderful experience nonetheless. (Ask Jessie for her vegan caramel recipe!😋)
